The Digbys have a storied history in the trucking industry which has led to their culture of safety. Jeff Digby owns Voyager Express, his father owns Digby Truck Lines near Nashville, TN, and his uncle owns Navajo Express in Denver, CO.

Jeff Digby, CEO, founder and owner of Voyager Express, Inc. and Voyager Logistics, and daughter Kayla, who serves as president, have made their mark on the transportation industry. Based out of Denver, Colorado, they operate a US Western Regional dry van trucking company and a small flatbed operation and have additional facilities in Phoenix, Arizona and Ontario, California.

Jeff and Kayla are no strangers to the transportation industry. Jeff’s grandfather started Digby Trucking in Denver, his father owns Digby Truckline, and his uncle owns Navajo Express. Having a desire to branch out on his own, Jeff had a unique vision and passion to bring a particular culture to his company. “I wanted to create a working environment hyper-focused on family, team and people. I envisioned joy to be the heart of our operation,” shares Digby. “Our philosophy and core values remain today that Voyager maintains a joyful place to be and work. As a company and employer, those are the things that we are most proud of.”

Jeff Digby started Voyager Express in 1995 with five trucks and today runs a 100-truck fleet. “As a business, we are committed to being a top-rated carrier in the industry. We just focus on the prevention,” adds Digby. That’s why he incorporated specific safety goals into the business plan he drafted before launching Voyager in 1995. Attention to prevention has translated into results for the 100-truck fleet.

Following multiple safety operations audits over the years, Voyager has stood out from the rest.

Denver-based Voyager Express Inc. has captured the Grand Prize in the Truckload Carriers Association’s National Fleet Safety Awards two times within a three-year span.

Voyager won for truckload carriers operating fewer than 25 million miles annually. Voyager Express’ safety program includes a strict no-touch freight policy, guaranteed weekly home time for all drivers and road patrols monitoring driver skills and tendencies.

“Two years ago, Jeff took a chance trying out the Mack Anthem, which was relatively new at the time. Voyager bought three trucks out of stock. These weren’t exactly his spec, but in the following months, I believe that he found some confidence in the product and our support at Bruckner’s,” shares Chase Robinson, Bruckner’s Colorado Regional Sales Manager. “Last year Jeff spent a couple of hours in my office with Chris Bok spec’ing this group of Anthems. It was evident that Jeff was interested

He was also interested in fuel mileage and decided to go with the MP8-SE (Super Econodyne) package, low profile 22.5 tires and a 2.64 rear axle ratio.”

“The Volvo/Mack relationship was a big factor as we were already running Volvos and familiar with the components and drive train,” says Digby. “I also really like the look of the Anthem. It’s a great design and has proven to be a really good truck for us. We run the high Rocky Mountain roads to and from California, Nevada, Utah and the truck performs very well especially under those extreme conditions. Mind you, these are 100% automatic. Our drivers are confident running the Mack mDrive with their heavy loads in the mountain terrain.

That really says a lot about the truck.”

Inspect the cabin air filter and blow out the evaporator core.

Inspect Sleeper cabin filter and blow out evaporator (if applicable) Hook up A/C gauges.

Run engine at 1000-1200 RPM with the A/C blower speed control switch on medium speed setting.

Record high and low PSI readings, vent outlet temperature and ensure that the compressor cycles.

Compare system temps and pressures to insure optimal performance is achieved.

Recommend and estimate any repairs and advise the customer.
