The True Ranch Collection is a selection of historic dude ranches offering guests an authentic western experience. Our historic preservation company Ranch Preservation Holdings, LLC, is committed to maintaining the hospitality and heritage of the western dude ranches in the True Ranch Collection. We aim to preserve the historic tradition of dude ranching, from its celebration of western heritage to its history as an early destination vacation in the United States.

We’ve revived each of the ranches in our collection for the next generation of guests; while staying true to the authenticity, identity and heritage of each ranch. Each property is a gateway into the past, and we’ve brought our commitment to keeping the hospitality and traditions of the West alive.

Lodging The ranch’s historic log cabins are nestled in a grove of tall trees, nearby the murmuring waters of the Shoshone River and Blackwater Creek. Each cabin has its own bathroom and some have multiple bedrooms.

You’ll have opportunities to experience America’s First National Park and First National Forest, as well as the cowboy town of Cody, Wyoming.

CIRCLE BAR GUEST RANCH A HISTORIC GUEST RANCH EXPERIENCE ON MONTANA’S JUDITH RIVER The Circle Bar Ranch is a historic guest ranch that dates back to the 1800s in central Montana. The 520-acre guest ranch sits at the base of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. Guests can explore the mountains by horseback, and enjoy fishing, hiking, shooting, and archery while staying in historic accommodations.

Explore the surrounding area of the Judith River Headwaters and the Little Belt Mountains and ride where western artist Charlie Russell once rode. At 5000 feet in elevation, the Circle Bar enjoys the best of Montana’s weather with a host of activities to enjoy.

Lodging Lodging at the Circle Bar ranges from lodge rooms to free-standing historic log cabins, or the large, well-equipped Ranch House. The Lodge features cozy guest rooms, the dining and living room.

Adventures The Circle Bar Ranch offers a wide range of activities from archery and shooting to swimming and spelunking. The ranch’s 520 acres and neighboring Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest offer plenty of landscape to explore, whether hiking on foot or by horseback.

Horseback riding is what the ranch is known for: Lope across Montana pastures; ride sturdy horses up to the mountains, or stay in-ranch to learn how to sort cattle.
