Welcome to SJS Cattle Company. We would like to start off by thanking you for taking the time to look through this 2020 offering of SJS Angus Cattle. We are so grateful to be able to have a sale this fall and welcome you all to the farm on October 31st. We are very excited about this Production Sale and encourage you to learn how we have incorporated Hinman Angus and Rollin’ Rock to strengthen our beautiful show cattle to be able to build a herd with breeding power.

We strive to provide you with well-rounded and structurally sound Angus cattle. Here at SJS, we have found that dedication to a philosophy of developing well-rounded cattle, rather than focusing on any one trait, produces cow families that provide generations of top-end females. SJS Cattle Co. is breeding for excellent phenotype, good feet, udder quality, and docility while emphasizing healthy weaning weights and yearly growth.

Throughout the last 17 years, SJS has worked with Dave and Yvonne Hinman - Hinman Angus - from Malta, Montana to bring these philosophies to fruition. WHAT A GREAT BLENDING OF THE BEST IN SULLIVAN & HINMAN BREEDING! What an exciting day October 31, 2020 promises to be as the pioneer Angus Sullivan Family offers the best in Sullivan and Hinman bloodlines. It was 50 years ago I had the privilege and pleasure of doing Justin’s grandfathers sale, Joe Sullivan, at Adel, Iowa.

The Sullivan’s have always been associated with superior Angus cattle and that’s what will sell in this sale.

One of the highlights of the recent Iowa Angus tour was a stop at the Sullivan herd.

I have had the privilege and pleasure of knowing this family for over 50 years. They have bred and shown many National Champions and have a down to earth program that really appeals to money making profitable orienting cattlemen.

I can recommend these cattle to the most discriminating. I am looking forward to seeing my many Angus friends at this historic Angus event on October 31, 2020.

Herd Health: All cattle will be accompanied by proper health certificates for immediate shipment. The sale offering is free of all known genetic defects and recessives as monitored by the American Angus Association. All cattle are guaranteed free of known defects unless indicated with a DDP or DDC by the animals’ registration number. All bulls are fertility tested and are healthy and strong. They have been developed on a low-concentrate, high-forage diet that allows them to express their genetic potential and to be sound for long term use and customer satisfaction.

Trucking: Truckers believed to be reliable will be available for referral to assist you in shipping your purchase.

Cattle Viewing: All cattle will be available for viewing all day Friday and sale day morning. You are welcome to visit SJS anytime and see the offering.

Lunch: Complimentary lunch will be served sale day from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Breeding Guarantee: All bulls have been fertility tested prior to the sale.

Each bull in the sale has passed the test for semen quality, sperm count and soundness. Each are guaranteed to be breeders and are so guaranteed for six months after the date of sale. Bulls that become injured or diseased after arriving at the buyer’s ranch do not fall under the breeding guarantee. Any bull found to be infertile by the buyer must be reported to SJS Cattle Company, LLC within the six month period following the sale. In the event an animal is claimed to be a non-breeder, the bull is to be returned to the seller. The seller may then replace the bull with a bull of equal or more value or refund the buyer only the amount paid for the individual bull. Seller also has the right to first test the returned bull for a one month period to verify his status as a non-breeder. Bulls must be returned in good health with proper health certificates and letter from a veterinarian describing the problem and the test results. The bulls must weigh as much as they did on sale day to ensure the bull has had proper care.
