Producers Coop was formed in 1944 and is a member-owned coop that proudly serves the south central Texas area. For more than 70 years, we have served Comal County and surrounding areas and established a reputation as the one stop shop for all of your livestock and agriculture needs.

What originally started as a place to trade wool and mohair, Producers Coop has since grown to include a complete feed mill, three retail locations covering Comal, Guadalupe and Wilson counties, and a grain elevator located on Hwy 46.

Experience makes the difference here at Producers. Our general manager, Horace Luensmann, has led the coop for the last 30 years.

Luensmann and his dedicated staff understand the needs of their clientele and provide dependable, reliable services to farmers, ranchers and livestock showmen throughout the state of Texas.

Through the years, Producers Coop has built a solid reputation as specialists in the livestock show feeding business. Our custom feed rations are the feed of choice for champions across Texas. We offer custom feed rations available at a minimum of one ton. Our rations are built on premium commodities and grains, and delivery is available.

In addition, we are a complete fertilizer, chemical and feed dealer. Our trailer sales division offers a full line of trailers including aluminum horse and cattle trailers, steel horse and cattle trailers, aluminum pig trailers, goat and sheep trailers, and utility trailers.

Our mission is to provide producers with high quality, economical products coupled with customer friendly service and the willingness to go the “extra-mile” to ensure our customers have what they need.

Horn Feed Rations In 2011, Producers Coop teamed up with our good friend and respected show cattle expert Brandon Horn of Horn Livestock to formulate the highest quality line of show steer feed rations available.

“The Horn Rations” are uniquely blended with excellent sources of protein, energy, yeast and other premium commodities to produce a highly palatable feed that show cattle crave. We offer three rations in the Horn series, including Horn Premium, Horn 20, and Horn Finisher. These rations are the feed of choice for several Texas major show champions as well as countless county fair champions and high-placing steers.

Dietert Feed Rations Since the early 1980s, seasoned show cattle feeders have trusted the Deitert Feeds to put them on track to success.

This blend was the first show steer ration developed by Horace Luensmann, Joe Taylor and Clinton Dietert as a complete nutritional feed for show cattle. Dietert 40 and Dietert 60 rations are still mixed with Calf Manna, a favorite of experienced feeders, to promote digestibility and provide an excellent source of protein and energy.

Since it’s creation more than 30 years ago, hundreds of champions have been fed on this ration.

Lucherk Feed Rations Feeders in deep south Texas understand that there are certain challenges that come with the harsh Texas heat and humidity during summer months. For this reason, Producers Coop teamed up with Tim Lucherk of Lucherk Cattle to create a new line of high quality feeds specifically designed for south Texas feeders. The Lucherk Feed Rations are designed to be fed through the summer months to help push cattle without “burning them up.” The Lucherk Select and Lucherk Special Reserve are both blended with Vita-Ferm’s SureChamp pellets to promote fungi populations in the rumen to increase digestibility and improve appetite.
