Hello and Welcome!
It is with great excitement that we welcome you to our first annual online female sale. We are thrilled to be able to present this group of females for your appraisal. We started off 2020 by exhibiting the National Champion pen of purebred heifers at NWSS - those females were truly exceptional and set the bar high for our program going forward! We have put together a tremendous set of females for this inaugural sale and are excited to welcome our friends Cory & Samantha Voss as guest consignors. All of the open heifers in the sale have been broke to stand on halter, with many of them being nearly show ready. Whether you are looking for a heifer to show at the county fair, junior nationals, or a potential donor female – there is really something here for everyone! Additionally, we are offering a group of bred females directly out of our replacement heifer pen. If it were not for another year of drought in ND, these females would not be leaving the ranch. As it stands, we are overstocked and need to free up some hay. There is also a group of 25 commercial bred females being offered by our friend Sandy Martsching. Sandy has built a tremendous set of Red Angus females and owns some of the best Red Angus bulls in the breed. This is a great opportunity to grab a set of females that would normally not be available.

HEALTH INFORMATION:
All cattle sell with a valid health certificate that will allow shipment anywhere in the continental United States. All cattle are guaranteed to meet health requirements to ship to Canada.
ONLINE VIDEO VIEWING:
All registration papers on the animals selling are in order and will be transferred to the new owner.
Videos of each lot will be available for viewing on the PHG website www.prairiehillsgelbvieh.com and DVAuction.com approximately 2 weeks before the sale.
All EPDs are provided by the American Gelbvieh Association and are current as of November 16, 2020. Weaning weights provided in the catalog are adjusted weights that have been calculated by the respective associations.
DNA:
All animals have been sire verified, and open heifers have genomically enhanced EPDs. Many have been tested for homo polled.
DELIVERY:
Consignors will work with buyers on delivery of their purchases to central points.
SALE FORMAT:
The sale will open for bidding on DVAuction.com on Thursday, December 10th. The sale will begin closing Saturday, December 12th at 7:00 PM (CST). This will be a horse race format sale, with bidding extended with any bids placed towards the end of the auction.

Lot 1 PHG HOT GOSSIP H65 What a female to start the sale with! We led our 2020 NWSS Champion Pen of 3 with an EC daughter that turned heads across the country, eventually selling for $14,500 to the team of Kittle and French Farms. Take a look at the lot 1 female and you see everything that made Gabby special, only she might be better. Long sided, deep ribbed, and exceptionally wide based - she’ll hang you a banner, or be your next donor female. There’s not much to say about EC that hasn’t already been said, but take a look at the cow side of the pedigree and you’ll see she’s loaded with maternal power - also a Dam of Merit in 2019 and 2020 (her first two years of eligibility). EPD’s put her in the top 25% of the breed for nearly all performance traits, as well as top 4% for stayability and top 10% for marbling. There aren’t many boxes she doesn’t check, don’t wake up in the morning and regret not hitting BID one more time! Retaining the right to 1 flush at your convenience and our expense.

Cory and Sam Voss focus on raising proven cow families with functionality and ability to win banners. Lot 4 PHG HOMEGIRL 04H ET We’re known for concentrating on our PB cattle, but occasionally we make some darn good Balancers as well! PHG Betty B57 has become one of the cornerstones of our red program. When she entered our donor program last year, the first flush we did was to Power Take Off after seeing him in Denver in 2019. 04H is exactly what we were hoping to make from this flush - stylish, deep, and maternal. Gayle is the product of our Dozer herdsire who is leaving a tremendous set of females in the herd. His first daughters calved in 2020 and are quickly becoming a standout set of females. When Jim Dobson brought Blackout to his new home, he gave us 10 straws of Gallagher Rule to test on a few cows, and WOW are the daughters out of him phenominal! We wanted to offer some different options in this sale, and Lot 14 is definitely unique. A pedigree carrying Fighting Irish, Yukon, and Beechjet - some of the best female makers we’ve used. Lot 17 PHG MISS ALI G47 I don’t want to play favorites, but Miss Ali might be my pick of the bred heifers in the offering. We purchased her granddam out of the Kreigh dispersal sale in 2013.
