Welcome back to Taylorville, Illinois for the Hereford Fall Classic Annual Sale. After taking a year off last fall, I speak for all us when I say how happy we are to have you all joining us this year on September 18. Our commitment to bringing you the best of the best in Hereford genetics continues and that commitment speaks for itself with this year’s offering.

Our goal for the Hereford Fall Classic Sale has remained steadfast. We want to produce high quality cattle that will work in multiple facets of the industry. This sale was started to provide Hereford genetics that will not only read well on paper, but back it up in the pasture. We have show cattle in the offering, but our number one goal is to produce maternal genetics that will be cows first and provide the junior exhibitors a cow when they take that show halter off for the last time.

This sale will headline our breed leading cow families Beth, 6124, Mariah, Stacie, 427, 0104 and more. This sale will be one of the first opportunities to purchase calves by the Junior National Champion bull Chuma as well as service from new popular herd sires like Belle Heir, Key West, and Real Deal. After taking a year off from the Hereford Fall Classic, we are loaded with added bred heifers to offer this year. These are straight from the top of our programs and bred to breed leading calving ease bulls.

The Hereford Fall Classic sale will once again feature the outstanding set of females from the elite program of Stephens and Loehr as well as Guest Consignors Crane Herefords, Steve Cole, Jeff and Stacie Babbs and Swigart Herefords. The cow herds producing this offering are some of the strongest in the Hereford breed. They are programs that breed for consistency.

Mark Stephens and his family and crew have bred functional, high performing, phenotypically superior females that have been bred around great cow families. I am honored to be working with the programs involved with the Hereford Fall Classic and hope you can join us on September 18, 2021 at the farm in Taylorville, Illinois.

Lot 1 is what the Stephens and Loehr program is striving to produce. They acquired the Beth cow from the Iron Lake program and her first mating after being in Illinois was to the newest addition to the Stephens & Loehr program, Chuma. The Lot 2 headlines the 6124 cow family which is the lead donor cow here at Stephens & Loehr the past couple years. You will have a variety of opportunities in this sale like the choice of the 2 year old daughters that are out of the famous donor 0104 that has been a proven maternal donor here and was a past high seller in the Hereford Fall Classic. Pairs and elite bred heifers as well as Hereford bred to a low birthweight Angus bull will anchor the sale.
