Many of the open weaned heifer calves are from our ET program. They trace back to females we sold in last years sale, along with bulls we offered in the spring. 2026 has been another busy year for us. We continue to grow our commercial bred heifer program. The development of including more and more AI mating’s into our base cow herd, along with the increased number of embryos we implant each year, just helps to continue to build on the strength and quality of our program. We spent last fall and into the early part of 2026 sourcing these females. From the buy, to trucking to settling the calves in the yard here at home, we oversaw all aspects of production. The large number of total head gave us the ability to dig deep into the group to find the very best ones to breed. All females were vet inspected prior to breeding. We inspect the heifers for confirmation and make sure to cut anyone with a personality or attitude we would not work with here at our own ranch. Our direct to consumer beef program has been growing over the last few years and the need for cattle to fill that

A strong healthy calf with a female that breeds back is our goal. We start our nutritional planning prior to seeding a crop. We rotate our fields with Corn silage and a heavy Pea/Soft White Wheat silage. The balance of these two forages helps give us the protein these heifers require along with the total energy as well. A complete balanced mineral program with chelates and elevated selenium round out our program. Read up on our full vaccination program below. We follow up with our Veterinary team every year to make sure we give these females everything they require prior to heading to their new homes. About the Offering
We know that bred heifers are the future of any successful herd, which is why we take great care in selecting only the highest-quality females. Our bred commercial heifers are chosen from reputable producers to ensure consistency, fertility, and strong maternal traits that will benefit any operation for years to come. Each heifer is either home-raised or sourced directly from top-tier, long-time producers, ensuring they come from proven bloodlines with a history of performance and longevity. To maximize calving success and long-term productivity, our heifers are bred to high-performance, calving-ease bulls, giving you peace of mind when it comes time for them to drop their first calf. These females are designed to be productive, low-maintenance, and profitable—ideal for both commercial and seedstock operations looking to strengthen their cow herd. With their exceptional genetics, structural soundness, and strong maternal instincts, our bred heifers will provide a solid foundation for generations to come.

We did flush this calf’s mother to the Judgement bull as well. One of our sale highlights in our 2026 bull sale was a full sib to this female. This calf’s mother has a picture perfect udder. The biggest mistake we made when using SAV Early Arrival semen was that we didn’t source more of it when it was available. We used Early Arrival on both our purebred angus heifers, as well as some of our commercial females. Easy calving while not giving up any performance. This young female just has that brood cow look to her. Take a deep look into her mothers pedigree. She is stacked with some exciting blood lines. Her maternal grand dam is likely to be the next female we start flushing from our program as she has just hit it out of the park year after year. We are excited for every Early Arrival calf on the farm right now.

The lone Shaw Caldwell daughter in this years sale. A heifer that offers an extra rib in length and provides the most extension in her front end. A heifer that is full of muscle yet patterns a little flatter in her shape. I believe that drives her to be one of the most overall feminine females in this years offering. A heifer off just a first calf female.
