Hello and Welcome! We are very proud of the offering of bulls that we have for sale this year and feel that these bulls are top-notch and will be able to fulfill the wants and needs of various buyers, with various budgets concerned. A large focus has been placed on above average performance concerning weaning and yearling weights, since a large portion of our bull customers are ultimately getting paid by the pound. Further to this, we develop these bulls with athleticism in mind. It is important to us that they are in proper physical condition to breed without several problems afterward. Your success is our success! We have continued to invest heavily in some very notable and exciting proven genetics from highly respected Angus breeders across North America. A lot of these bulls are the result of embryo transfer out of some amazing cow families with several proven registered progeny going strong. Others are the result of using artificial insemination or natural breeding on high quality and hard-working females that we have purchased outright from breeders with similar goals and values to those of our own. To conclude, we continue to focus on doing everything that we can to produce good and reliable animals in order to gain the respect of our customers, as we are well aware that the �one-time customer� philosophy is not a good long term strategy as far as the sustainability of our farm is concerned. FEEDING:
We have done Angus GS genomic testing on all of the bulls to help predict their calf crop with more accuracy. All EPDs are as of February 2020.
All cattle sold from our farm are sold under the terms and conditions of the Canadian Angus Association. Upon purchase of the bull, the buyer is responsible for a 20% deposit with the remainder due upon delivery.
Bulls are fed a high roughage ration consisting of hay, corn silage, oats and mineral using a tmr mixer. This is fed in bunks within pastures, and as a result, these bulls are in very good physical shape. They get plenty of room to exercise and are ready to work.
HEALTH PROTOCOLS:
The bulls have been vaccinated with Bovi-Shield Gold FP5L5HB and Covexin Plus. In addition, they have been recently treated with SafeGuard and Ivermectin.
We will be doing breeding soundness exams and collecting carcass ultrasound data in February and March 2020. Results will be posted on our website once received.

We offer free delivery to buyers in Southwestern Ontario. All other buyers will be responsible for delivery costs, but we can help arrange delivery. Bulls can be held here over the winter until April 30, 2020. if needed. After that, there will be a $3.00 per day boarding fee to cover feeding

Canadian Angus Association EPDS GROWTH
FERTILITY TRAITS
CARCASS TRAITS
BIRTH WEIGHT (BW): Expressed in lbs, predicts on average how much heavier or lighter than the breed average an animal’s calves will be. If the breed average is 3 and an Angus animal has a BW EPD of 5, then on average this animal’s calves will be 2 lbs heavier than the breed average.
CALVING EASE DIRECT (CE): Predicts the percentage of unassisted birthings expected from an animal’s calves. This EPD reflects a combination of gestational growth and a calf’s conformation. The higher the CED EPD, the more likely it is that the animal’s calves will be born without assistance.
RIB EYE AREA (REA): Expressed in square inches, predicts the size of the rib eye muscle at the 12th rib in the average calf.
WEANING WEIGHT (WW): Expressed in lbs, predicts comparative progeny weight at 205 days of age. This EPD reflects preweaning growth potential that an animal is expected to contribute to its calves.
CALVING EASE MATERNAL (MCE): Predicts the percentage of unassisted births an animal’s daughters will have with their first calves. This is a reflection of daughters’ pelvic shape and level of hormonal reactions and stamina during labour. The higher the CEM EPD, the more likely it is that the animal’s daughters will give birth without assistance.
MARBLING (MARB): A predictor of the level of intramuscular fat in the rib eye muscle, this EPD is calculated using both ultrasound and carcass data.
YEARLING WEIGHT (YW): Expressed in lbs, predicts the differences in progeny performance at 365 days. The YW EPD reflects the animal’s calves’ potential for post-weaning growth.
MILK: Expressed in lbs of calf weaned, this is a prediction of an animal’s daughter’s milking ability. TOTAL MATERNAL (TM): A measurement comprised of half of an animal’s Milk EPD and half of its additive genetic contribution to its calves’ weaning weights. SCROTAL CIRCUMFERENCE (SC): This EPD predicts the average scrotal circumference for an animal’s sons. Scrotal circumference is used to gauge a bull’s fertility.

When we toured the bulls at Mohnen Angus in 2018, we couldn’t help but fall in love with Mohnen General 548. We have seen a lot of 5290 calves – both heifers and bulls – and they are definitely impressive. 5290 is a maternal sister to S A V America 8018 and has sold over $1.5 million in sales. Baldridge Colonel C251, was the all-time high selling bull at Baldridge Bros. of Nebraska at $580,000. He’s known for producing good footed, calm cattle that have moderate birth weights, yet strong growth performance and carcass traits. When we had the opportunity to buy the same embryo mating as Mohnen General 548, we were pretty excited. Out of three embryos, we were fortunate enough to get two pregnancies – one bull and one heifer. Both are complete knockouts. Graffiti 18G packs a lot of muscle and is put together perfectly with excellent feet, a great pedigree, good carcass traits, big scrotal, extremely good docility and worthy growth performance. He is very similar to General and has been a standout here since he arrived. In addition, his daughters should have impeccable udders – just look at the females in his pedigree!

We purchased a flush on S A V Madame Pride 5290 a few years ago and after a lot of consideration, decided to use Brooking bank Note 4040. The thickness and growth performance of his progeny, along with the jet black hair and overall look made this mating something to be really excited about. In addition, she has never been mated this way before. On offer are four bulls this way that all have that real “herd bull� presence with good bone and feet, solid muscle expression, and above average growth, total maternal, scrotal size and carcass weight. They are all very similar in design and are very eye-catching.

NOR 25G is a great bull with his proven pedigree and individual performance. His sire, Ellingson Homegrown, was the second high selling bull in their 2017 sale and is known for good fertility, growth, exceptional feet and structural integrity. We have been very impressed with his calves here and are really drawn to the wide-based and overall thick look of them. Mohnen Jilt 4077 is a really easy doing cow and did a great job raising this bull. 25G is very attractive with his beautiful black hair coat and his docility is worth noting. He ranks well above average in nearly every trait, also including carcass traits. He has an exceptional birth weight to yearling weight spread and is in the top 1% of the breed for rib eye area and top 10% for carcass weight. He will leave behind very functional daughters and sons.

NOR 39F is a growth performance bull with the added bonus of some extra frame, length and bone. He has great carcass traits and exceptional maternal traits as well. His dam, 47C, has raised four really good bulls for us and has always bred up quickly and calved on her own. She’s very fertile, docile, and quite feminine. 39F’s sire Freys Opportunity is known for good maternal and growth characteristics and this bull, by all rights, should be the same. He will be a great one to sire stockers worth fighting over at the sale barn.

This is great bull to use for calving ease, without sacrificing growth – like a lot of the calving ease bulls that we produce. He’s very attractive with great structural design and some moderation. He’s also an exceptional maternal bull with a total maternal epd in the top 2% of the breed, and milk epd in the top 1% of the breed. We didn’t name this bull Goliath simply guessing that he would turn out to be an absolute powerhouse – we could tell he would be from day one. He’s wide-topped, heavily muscled, deep gutted and has good bone and solid feet. His yearling weight epd is an incredible 157 and in the top 1% of the breed, along with his carcass weight epd. In addition, his total maternal epd is also in the top 1% of the breed. We have had great success with Ten Speed sons and daughters as far as growth performance, overall look and maternal ability goes. Goliath’s dam (Tibbie 51C) is known for not only her show success, but for her great udder, maternal traits, and powerful performance. This combination is a real winner and this bull will definitely prove it with his future progeny.
