WELCOME

We would like to invite and welcome you to our 8th Annual Bull Sale held at our ranch just west of Radville. It is amazing how time goes by. For some reason time goes by even faster once you have children.

We now have three children Kordell-7, Kiefer-3 and Aleida-1. They not only keep us busy, but are our motivation to succeed and do what we do. We feel truly fortunate to live the life we do and be able to spend so much of it with our children.

Also with time our program matures and we are now able to see more progress made in our operation and many of our customers. It is extremely rewarding seeing and hearing from customers the positive influence our genetics have had for them. Initially we hear the reports of the quality of calves and improvement of consistency. But now we hear more that their cows are better and their udders are better. It is truly humbling for us.

A main goal of our program is to always be improving from the year before. Not only do we have the strongest set of bulls we have offered it is also the largest quantity we have offered to date. All are sired by some of the leading edge genetics in the entire Angus business. 35% of the bulls on offer are from our embryo program. This enables us to ensure high quality bulls in volume out of the leading females from our herd. This help’s create many options for buyers. Let’s not forget to mention this increases the consistency and predictability of the replacement females going back into our herd. The future dams of the offering.

We are also constantly recalibrating our management to ensure the health and longevity of our bulls. Our bulls are never fed a straight grain or pellet ration in their life. They are always fed by a TMR ration. After weaning the bulls are fed in one contemporary group on 38 acres and fed a Total Mixed Ration balanced with the guidance of Bullseye Nutrition. Around Christmas the bulls are sorted and housed in the pens they are currently in. None of the yearling bulls will have ever had their feet trimmed before the sale. The bulls and our cowherd are on a full herd-health program under the supervision and guidance of Deep South Animal Clinic. The bulls are also sementested and evaluated by Deep South Animal Clinic, Dr. Andy Acton.

Firebrand is a bull you need to have seen to truly appreciate. He is unique in the fashion of being wide hipped, wide pin set, muscular, deep ribbed and moves effortlessly with his head high on the move.

On the standstill he stands on a perfect big hoof out on his four corners and consistently transmits this to his offspring. A special highlight this past fall was a daughter that was at side of our two-time Supreme Champion female at Farmfair and Agribition.
