The offering represents several years of work and dedication to offer breed leading genetics. As our bull numbers have increased we have seized the opportunity to cull deeper for disposition and birth weight. This offering is highlighted by several tried and true sires with a few up and coming matings sprinkled in. As we have marketed more bulls every year it is exciting for us to hear the positive reports on conception, performance and marketing of your calves. To see a customer’s hard work and investment come to fruition is very rewarding for us.

SALE MANAGER

The bulls have been developed on a roughage based total mixed ration designed by Cliff Wilms at Hubbard feeds. The bulls will have all passed a semen check, and PI BVD screening. All the bulls are guaranteed virgin bulls and will come with a negative Trich test.

He’s earned a 248.58 TSI (Total Sire Index) and the breed average TSI is 199.35!! He is currently the 44th highest TSI in the entire Charolais Association database, and has the 14th highest TSI if you limit birth weight to under a 1.5 BW EPD. He weighed 83 pounds at birth, and then a 131 weaning ratio, and on to 1,444 pounds at a year to ratio 125. At a year of age he scanned a 17.5 inch Ribeye to ratio 117 and a 108 marbling ratio to go along with it. He stacks all this performance in an ideal 6.7 frame. Throw the data on the ground? No problem, he’s the first one everyone finds when they jump into the pen and the one they go back to see before they leave. His dam will turn 10 this spring. She still has perfect feet and udder even with producing the ample milk needed to wean 7 calves with a 110.3 nursing ratio. Her 8th calf a 2017 fall born heifer by Rushmore looks par for the course. He lands on symmetrical feet, and has a very tight sheath. After all this, his gentle disposition might be his most admirable attribute. He’s never got any special attention and earned it all right along with his contemporaries, just like his mom.

His data tabulation reads like a dream! Top 2 % for weaning, yearling, and carcass weight EPDs. A 113 weaning ratio, and not surprising is a 107 ratio for Ribeye in a stout 6.4 frame. His mother produced CD Cobra 4101 two years ago that was a standout. Her lifetime nursing ratio is 107.5.

Lot 56 is out of Tom’s favorite foundation cow. Just a perfect uddered, beautifully constructed, no miss, beast of a cow. Her first son at CD made it to the 2014 Denver Reserve Grand Pen of 5 Bulls and then sold to Hassebrook Charolais as that years high seller. Her second calf was CD Copperhead that topped our 2016 sale at $10,000. We retained an interest and sampled him last spring. His only 3 calves sold in our fall online female sale. The phone was blowing up asking about this no name sire.
