About Tommie Rogers and The Branch Ranch Tommie L. Rogers was born and raised in Abbeville, Louisiana and is the son of the late J.C. “Black” and Effie Rogers, also of Abbeville. Tommie is married to Janice Fortner Rogers, with whom he has four lovely daughters and eight grandchildren.
Dr. P.O. Landry and Tommie’s grandfather, Chon Broussard, introduced Tommie to the world of animals and open land as a young boy. He spent countless days playing “Rawhide” in the open fields of Delcambre. These early childhood experiences solidified Tommie’s desire to pursue his love of land and animals. Tommie’s bond with his father was one of mutual respect and understanding – his father instilled in him, from a young age, the will to never give up on your dreams; quitting was not an option. Tommie attributes his success to his father’s example of hard work, integrity and honor. Like his father, Tommie firmly believes these principles are the key to success.
Upon graduating from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, Tommie ventured into the oil industry working for several service companies in the Gulf of Mexico. In the late ’70s, he started his own oil tool service company, Rogers Oil Tools Services, Inc. where he was the owner and president for 30 years. As a result of his innovative ideas and ambition Tommie lead Rogers Oil Tools Services, Inc. into an internationally respected brand.
While pursuing a career in the oil industry, Tommie was presented with the opportunity to buy land and live out a childhood dream. In 1982 Tommie bought his first piece of land in the town of Branch, Louisiana. With just six cows, he began a second career in the cattle industry by establishing the Branch Ranch. He was determined to build a successful cattle operation. As his daughters matured, Tommie introduced them to the cattle industry through the 4-H program, where he supported them with beef cattle for their projects. For about 12 years Tommie and his daughters traveled around the country showing Brangus cattle. Through the years, Tommie developed valuable relationships with area cattlemen as well as cattlemen throughout the country. The condition and value of his animals, as well as the honesty of his opinion, afforded him the respect of cattlemen everywhere.
Tommie served as President of the Louisiana Brangus Breeders Association (LBBA) for eight years, during which time he also served on the board of directors and chaired various committees and research programs with the International Brangus Breeders Association (IBBA). Tommie expanded his interest in the Brangus industry even further when he served as President of the IBBA from 1999 to 2000. In the midst of it all, The Branch Ranch outgrew its original location in Branch, Louisiana. In 1996 Tommie moved the Ranch to its current location in Mansfield, Louisiana. The new property provided ample space for Tommie’s cattle operation, as well as room for expansion. The Branch Ranch continued to grow and in 2003, the Louisiana Cattle Festival and Fair named Tommie Rogers Outstanding Cattleman of the Year.
Big changes came for Tommie and The Branch Ranch in 2007 when he sold Rogers Oil Tools Services, Inc, which he owned and operated for more than 30 years. With more time on his hands, Tommie devoted his efforts to his herd and a new era of The Branch Ranch. This included the purchase of The Island Plantation property in 2012, located near Natchitoches, Louisiana. The addition affords Tommie the opportunity to expand his cattle operation making a bigger impact within the cattle industry. The property in Natchitoches, Louisiana is now the development center for weaned cattle and the Branch Ranch’s specialty breeding programs. It is also the host to the development center for the two-year-old breeding bull program while the main Ranch location in Mansfield is devoted to a registered mama cow operation. Tommie’s success with the Branch Ranch is the result of hard work. He is dedicated to his craft and is always in search of new and innovative ways to enhance the cattle industry.

There is no fluff in our bulls...what you see is what you get. Under normal conditions, our bulls to go into the breeding season with ample body condition to maintain libido, motility and breeding effectiveness. TBR bulls are fit and ready to work. We are offering a heavy influence of our first generation, multi-trait leader InFocus 129X32, who has been a sale favorite year after year! He ranks in the top1% for WW, YW, TM, REA, top 5% for SC, and top 15% for IMF. We also have a number of bulls sired by our Csonka of Brinks 30R4 son, CCC Intrepid, who is known for his calving ease qualities. Also we are offering a set of Ultrablack bulls that have superior calving ease, carcass, phenotype and maternal traits. Our bulls are grown in pastures that range from 100-300 acres, so they know how to hustle and are built to travel. They have maintained a average daily consumption of 12 pounds a day of a high forage ration grazing in Bermuda pastures. We have monitored there daily gains closely, and have kept them at an average daily gain of 3 pounds per day. These bulls will be sound and ready to breed. About the Females Selling...
The Branch Ranch and some of our long-time customers have consigned the commercial heifers. The heifers are either sired by Branch Ranch bulls or have been bred back to Branch Ranch bulls. All heifers are or were bred to low birth weight Angus, Brangus, Horned Hereford or Ultrablack bulls. The heifers were bred to calve at ages ranging from 22 to 28 months of age. All heifers will have been ultrasounded safe in calf 30 days prior to the sale or will have calf at side. Ultrasound and palpation have been done by a veterinarian and all data will be available sale day. Females will be available for viewing at The Branch Ranch Headquarters, November 1-5, 2018. Heifers will be videoed in by consigned groups and will be penned that way as well. We will sell them by the Group listed with each group broken down to 3-5 head. Buyers have the option to roll the next pens of heifers at the established price as long as the heifers are from the same consignor. Any additions or changes will be noted on the supplement sheet sale day.
GROUP 1 ~ From The Branch Ranch, Mansfield, Louisiana 3 Brangus Super Baldy Heifer Pairs Three (3) head of Brangus Super Baldies sired by LeForce horned Hereford bulls and out of purebred Branch Ranch Brangus cows with Baldy calves at side sired by horned LeForce Hereford bulls. These girls are full two-year-olds and will be ready to go back with a Branch Ranch bull of your choice this December. Fancy set of females that are guaranteed to work in anyone’s program.
GROUP 3 ~ From Dodson Ranch, Haughton, Louisiana 15 Commercial Brangus Pairs This group of females are consigned by Loyd Dodson. They have been raising quality cattle for a long time. Here’s a chance to buy 15 hand picked full twoyear-old heifers that are sired by Branch Ranch Brangus and Ultrablack bulls and out of commercial Brangus and purebred Angus cows. The calves at side are sired by low birth weight multigeneration Branch Ranch Brangus bulls. Don’t miss out on this great set of quality females from the Dodson family.

Here is a powerful set of 16 Brangus females with baldy calves at there side sired by LeForce horned Hereford bulls. We selected these ladies out a group of registered replacement heifers with maternal qualities as our main focus. They are calving as full two-year-olds and will be ready to go back with any Branch Ranch Brangus or Ultrablack bull you choose this fall.

Except for those stated in the below terms and conditions, there are no warranties, either expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose with respect to the cattle being sold at this auction. The warranties and guarantees set forth in the "Terms & Conditions" are in lieu of all other warranties, either expressed or implied, and the remedies provided therin shall be the sole and exclusive remedy of the buyer, or any party through buyer, for any breach of warranty or guarantee therein provided, and all other obligations or liabilities.
1. BIDDING: Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder without reserve. In regards to the live closeout, the auctioneer in charge will settle any disputes as to bids, and his decision shall be final.
2. PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold, but will not be delivered until settlement has been made.
3. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: When full settlement has been made, a certificate of registration will be furnished and transfered to the purchaser on those lots that are registered.
4. HEALTH: All animals where possession is sold are eligible for interstate shipment except as otherwise noted. Any testing necessary for intrastate or interstate shipping will be done within thirty (30) days of the sale date. A health certificate will be furnished upon completion of purchase.
5. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcements from the live auctioneer will take precedence over the printed matter in this catalog. All cattle will be sold by lot numbers as announced by the auctioneer.
6. BREEDING GUARANTEES: (A) All animals are guaranteed to be breeders with the exception of (1) injury or disease occurring after sales; (2) negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the purchaser. (B) Any bull is considered a breeder if he settles cows by natural service and passes a fertility test made by a competent veterinarian during any six month period trial.
7. OPTIONS AND PRIVILEGES OF RETURN OR ADJUSTMENTS: A. All claims for adjustment or refund must be made in writing within six (6) months of the sale date. B. Any animal that has not proven itself a breeder within the time limits specified above, if in healthy condition, may be returned to seller at buyer's expense, and buyer may either demand return of the purchase price or replacement of the animal with another of equal value. 8. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS: The above terms and conditions of sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller of each animal and shall be equally binding upon both. If proper settlement has not been made in a timely manner, credit cards on file may be used to settle any outstanding balances.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This sale will be a combination Timed and Live Event. Buyers will be able to pre-bid on bulls starting at 8 am on Friday, November 2, 2018 and continue through 11 am, Monday, November 5, 2018. The live auction at the ranch will begin at 1 pm Monday, November 5, 2018. Once the final hammer price has been realized through the live auction, the animal will then be considered sold.
