Welcome to our 5th annual fall Online Open Book Invitational female sale. It is amazing how time flies by and it is already our fifth fall sale. I always say the problem with raising cattle is that the mind works a lot quicker than the gestation table of a cow. However, even though we have not been long time breeders we are already starting to see the impact and results our genetics have been making. We are proud that 21 of the 31 live lots selling we have raised or sold either their dam or sire. I feel this sale is just starting to form into the potential it has with the relationships we have been building with our customers and them trusting us to consign their absolute best. Our customers have been enjoying great success with genetics purchased from us with many championships won and many selling five figure progeny. A majority of our cattle sell to repeat buyers. All open heifers sell halter broke and we reserve the right to show several of these calves at Agribition at our expense for the new owner. Thank you to all who have purchased from us in the past we appreciate your business. We look forward to visiting with you again. If you have any questions please give us a call we would be happy to talk about the sale offering.

Staying true to tradition we offer our best to you. Brooking Countess 7077 is a knockout of a female that grabs your attention instantly. She has the power, rib, hair, bone and good looks to put her in a category that only a few can achieve. She is sired by Natural Law, a bull we think highly of and his semen is not on the open market. The last Natural Law daughter we sold won all the majors for Blairs in 2015 and the forecast looks promising this fall for another Natural Law daughter shown by Laurie Morasch, already winning several banners. Heifers like Brooking Countess 7077 are hard to come by and even harder to find for sale. Take the opportunity to join the ride on this one.

There are those elite cow families that crank them out time and time again and the Lady cow family does just that. Maternal siblings include the highest selling heifer we have ever sold at $40,000. Soo Line Lady 8058, the dam of the $50,000 Brooking Silver Lining 5012, the high selling bull at Soo Line in 2012, and other’s working at Poplar Meadow’s, Blairs.Ag, and Abe Kuck’s. On her individual appraisal Come As U R 717E is extremely well made, level hipped, full in her rump, clean fronted and has perfect balance. The Natural Law daughters are hard to acquire and here is one with big time status that will have a license to print money for years to come.

Brooking PM Sandy 7041 is daughter of the ever popular KNC Cabin Creek Sandy 804 the 2009 American Royal Champion Female. The Sandy cow family is well known for producing champions across the United States with too many accolades to mention. When you combine this cow family with the immortal sire of champions, Dameron First Class, you come up with a package of power, size, mass, depth of rib, big bone and great hair in Brooking PM Sandy 7041. With First Class semen bringing up to $17,000 a straw this will be one of the last chances in Canada to own a direct daughter and the only chance to get a daughter of KNC Cabin Creek Sandy 804. Start your own Sandy story.

SAV Madame Pride 9803 :: Maternal Sib to Dam

On my summer travels when I came across this heifer at Mitch and Jodie Campbells she hit me hard as one I really needed for this sale. MTC Madame Pride 7058 has all the essential components to put a check mark in every category. She has the phenotype, huge rib shape, width, balance, maternal presence and fleshing ability to be a front runner donor prospect. This is reinforced by a cow family that is one of the most nostalgic in the breed for consistently raising the elite status kind. The dam, grandam and third dam have sold millions of dollars worth in progeny and are a sight to behold. This early April heifer will be one of the first Cutting Edge daughters to sell in Canada and is one of my personal favourites.

Brooking Bank Note 4040 progeny have been proving to be one of the most in-demand sires in the breed. They have added rib-shape, muscle dimension, style, hoof quality and fluent movement. Brooking Beauty 7032 is a true example of Bank Note’s siring ability and has the look to be a great producer. We have flushed Brooking Beauty 7041’s dam, grandam, maternal sister, and maternal sister to the dam. Needless to say we love the Beauty cow family and it will be one of our main cow families forever. The guesswork is taken away with this pedigree.

It wouldn’t be a sale with out a direct daughter of TLA Beauty 6R and what a great combination with Brooking Bank Note 4040. A timeless meshing of our two best cow families the Rose and Beauty’s. TLA Beauty 6R is our #1 income cow and has 64 offspring registered in Canada to date with many being high sellers and champions. Greenwood Beauty JJP 56E is moderate framed, easy fleshing, great haired, with a beautiful head and perfect teat size and placement. Backed by a no-miss cow family makes this a great foundation female.

One of the first things that comes to my mind when I hear the name Abigale is Joe Goggins at SAV sales and the way he says “Heeeere is an Abigale.” on the block. The second is witnessing the angularity, femininity and production of the Abigale’s in the pastures at Schaff ’s. These powerful flush mate sisters from Carlson’s are deep ribbed, high phenotype, perfect udder development and have beautiful heads. They possess the mass and broodiness combined with an elite cow family on both sides of the pedigree to be a leading donor candidate. Just imagine what these Abigale’s could do in your pasture.

One of the exciting things to happen in recent times in the Angus business was when Wiwa Creek Rush Lake 71’12 and his dam Wiwa Creek Pride 63’10 sold for a combined total of $116,000 at the 2012 Power and Perfection. That sale ring was a buzz and there are not many times after an animal sells there is a round of applause, but there was that day. That pair was the barn favourite and here is a chance to own a full sister to Rush Lake himself. Come As U R Pride 714E is pretty, great haired, straight lined and I think would look great with a junior on the end of the halter showing her.

Here is a result of a past purchase from our 2013 sale. Vos Vegas purchased 1/2 interest in her dam and dam’s sister and have received excellent results. Note the lead off bred heifer is out of the full sister to the dam. Vos Vegas Beauty 5E is as pretty as they come, is long fronted and holds her head elegantly on the move. She is straight topped, flat shouldered, has a big sweeping rib and has awesome hair. Vos Vegas Beauty 5E has the looks to hang banners and has the disposition you will want to be with her in the barn and show ring at every show. Backed by a cow family that is a no-miss you can’t go wrong.

Just a March born heifer that has that always at attention look about her that is rare to come by. Brooking Lady 7166 holds her head high right out of the top of her shoulder, is big ribbed and has soft fuzzy hair. This heifer is fresh and will get better every day and I forecast her to look big time as a bred. The dam is no stranger to raising the good ones. The last three years in a row her calves have won their division at Agribition and have sold for $32,500, $50,000 and $14,500. Including last years Reserve Champion bull at Agribition, Brooking Silver Lining 5012. A maternal sister to the dam sells as Lot 2 in this sale and another maternal sister to the dam is our highest selling heifer calf ever at $40,000. The great cow families do it over and over again.

Brooking Blackbird 7149 is another March born heifer that is sure to gain your attention. Sired by our resident herdsire, Hoffman Opportunist 4640, that was our pick of the bulls at Hoffmans that year. He in turn is sired by a two-time National Western Stock Show Reserve Grand Champion bull and his dam was a high selling cow in their production sale. All of the calves by Opportunist share his good looks being extended in their front end, high phenotype and have excellent dispositions. Maternal siblings to Brooking Blackbird 7149 have averaged over $10,000 and sold to Riverfront Angus Ranch, Rod Johnson and Cody Innocent.

I was thrilled when Kevin Blair allowed us free reign on any heifers we wanted for this sale. There is no way I could resist a daughter of a past sale heifer from our 2013 sale, Bar-E-L Erica 74A. Erica 74A went on to win many shows and won every major in western Canada as a two-year old. More importantly she won over the hearts of many of the best cattleman in the industry. Blair’s Erica 567E on her own merit is a massive tank of a female. She is huge bodied, deep flanked, well made with that same pretty head her dam has. Another exciting part of this chapter is that this heifer is sired by Coleman Charlo 0256 who has been possibly the most talked about bull in the breed this year since his world breaking sons hit the sale ring at SAV. If you want an outstanding heifer to build a foundation cow family off of than look no further than Blair’s Erica 567E.

When you go to a sale and there is a very good female selling at it there is a good chance Kevin Blair is going to own her or at least make her bring top dollar. That is how Blairs.Ag have one of the strongest donor arsenals in the business. This summer on my visit to Lanigan this heifer grabbed my attention instantly. Blair’s Dawn 531E is as nicely made as you can make one. She is nice headed, clean necked, smooth shoulder, straight topped, level underline, square hipped, perfect teat size, and simply put solid made. Her dam is one of the best looking Tiger granddaughters I have come across.

Schwan’s are putting a great group of females together and here is a special Bank Note daughter right out of the top of their ET program out of their donor Norseman Eula 31’09. Ty showed a full sister last year with much success and had a lot of admirers along the way. Schwans Miss Eula 708E has extra size, mass, body, bone, and power to be a front ranking replacement female. She owns all the quality to get the job done and be a money maker year after year.

The Longshore family has consigned to our fall female sale since its inception and always consign one right from the cream of their crop. This Caldwell daughter is no exception with her angular front end and huge rib shape. Bar-E-L cattle are the kind that go out and work no matter what program and environment they are put in. They just flat out work and expect the same results with this daughter of Caldwell who was a high selling Natural Law son to Blairs.Ag that goes back to one of Dave’s favourite cows Bride 4W.

Last year they consigned the same mating of their $50,000 SAV Harvest Moon 2244 and Wiwa Creek Monarch 53’08. It resulting in a Reserve Division at Agribition and was purchased by Blairs West. This years heifer is from the cherished Tilda cow family and what a sweetheart she is. A Brooking Bank Note 4040 daughter that will be sure to get a check mark in many sale books. Bank Note has taken our program to a new level and I can not wait until the first daughters are in production. With Bank Note semen off the open market in Canada take the opportunity to buy as many daughters as you can they are the real deal. Study this heifer especially her udder development. We don’t think it can get much better.

We wanted to offer more heifers than normal this year as we felt bad when so many people did not get one. I think this would be a perfect female for a junior project. Brooking Countess 7122 is sired by the $27,000 HF Instigator 115B who has matured into a perfect footed and very well made mature bull. Introducing Brooking Beauty 6066. She is the epitome of our program in so many ways. First off her pedigree is what we are building a foundation on. A daughter of the $125,000 Brooking Bank Note 4040 and her dam is from our #1 income cow family the Beauty’s. Secondly her dam is a past sale heifer that sold 1/2 interest along with her sister for $30,000 to Vos Vegas. This is what this sale has been about, offering our best to you, proving our genetics work for others and also helping our customers return on their investment. Brooking Beauty 6066 is close to ideal in our opinion. She is angular and feminine fronted, big bodied and combined with a high quality phenotype. One female can change a program, this is what they look like.

Brooking Bank Note 4040 is proving to be very consistent at his ability to sire offspring that are high quality that have that extra visual muscle shape, deep bodied, great footed and the daughters show excellent udder development. We can’t wait to get these Bank Note daughters in production and Brooking Chloe 6019 shows to be a great example of all those necessary qualities that are making Bank Note so popular in the Angus breed today.

One of the most powerful daughters of Motive 9016 in existence. Brooking Jessica 6057 is massive in her body design as she is big, long, deep, stout and does this all with a pleasant look. This female will be a top producer for the new owners as the Motive daughters are well known for being productive with high quality udders.

A typical Motive daughter- moderate framed, well made, level hip, and nice to look at. She is safe early to the Semex sire Boyd Authority. We really like our Authority calves on our two year old females. They are born easy and grow quickly into stout and easy fleshing individuals. Expect solid ROI on this female.

Another daughter of RB Tour of Duty that has length of body and stands on extra diameter of bone. She is an in-dam purchase from Anderson Cattle. Brooking Primrose 6120 is bred up early to the Semex sire Boyd Authority, a Connelly Capitalist son who we are very impressed with his initial calf crop at Brooking.

Riverfront Primrose 604D is another result from a female purchased from us through this same sale in 2014. I really like this female from the famed Primrose cow family that goes back to the original Primrose 2424, the dam of EXT. Riverfront Primrose 604D is a maternal looking, straight lined and shows absolute perfect udder development. We purchased a paternal sister last year from Riverfront and she turned out to be a stunning female with a heifer calf that would be in the top handful on the ranch. Bid with confidence on this female that is carrying early service to 4M Element.

Any body that has toured our place sure knows Bax Maureen Emilie 243-559. She is now 14 years of age and looks the same as she did when she was six. She is moderate framed, easy fleshing, perfect feet and udder and raises the right kind bred any direction. She has avg close to $15,000 on progeny. I think with the mating to Bar-E-L Natural Law could be the winning ticket. You can’t buy the semen so your only chance is through an embryo.

A couple years ago we fell in love with a cow down at Express and with a hard try to own her she ended up bringing well over six figures. So when we found a full sister that was darn close in quality we had to own her. Derived from the famous Forever Lady cow family tracing to the the original SVF Forever Lady 57D. On her own appraisal Day Forever Lady 031 is well made, angular fronted and very good uddered. We are retaining a full sister to the embryos selling that is a mirror image of the cow.

There have only been a few bulls in my lifetime that the second I saw them I needed to own them. SAV Renovation 6822 was one of them. We were thrilled that we were able to own him. Renovation is powerfully massive in his muscle shape and has herd-changing design. He is perfect in his structure and with the amount of mass he owns he has a rare ability to be flawless in his movement and holds his head high. His fleshing ability is second to none and resembles his impeccable dam. His density sired dam, SAV Madame Pride 0151, is a sixth generation SAV embryo donor. She is phenotypically flawless, is moderate framed, excellent uddered, abounding in shape and mass. His grandam is the maternal matriarch and continues in production at 17-years of age. She is the second top income cow at SAV with 107 progeny featured in past SAV sales and 38 daughters retained in the SAV herd. We have decided to keep Renovation exclusive in Canada and not put him on the open market. Take advantage of this opportunity. We feel this bull is one of the great ones and will be a foundation sire here at Brooking.
