21st Annual Southern Showcase Sale Dedication The 21st Annual Southern Showcase is dedicated to Kristin Van Meter who was a friend and family to consignors and buyers at the Southern Showcase for many years and was extremely instrumental in the years of success enjoyed by this event and its participants.

Mrs. Kristin D. Van Meter, age 33, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ following a courageous battle with cancer.

Kristin was born in Rome, GA on March 4, 1984, daughter to William Lamar Davis and Terri Echols. Kristin’s life on this earth was centered on her husband, life partner and best friend, Bruce, and the light of her life her 2 year old son, “Little Bruce”. Words cannot express the light she shown upon these two and the love she had for both of them and the love they have for her.

Kristin was an integral part of her and her husband’s purebred livestock operation and livestock consulting business. She enjoyed and was a natural at showing cattle around the country at venues large and small that included Louisville, Denver, Fort Worth, Houston, Pensacola, Tampa, Miami and many, many more where she had countless friends and acquaintances. Kristin was a whiz at the computer and office work associated with the livestock consulting business and routinely handled complex matters for clients from Nebraska to Florida and all across North America. Nobody ever could or ever will handle catalog production and running the office at a purebred livestock auction like Kristin and her smile at the checkout table will be forever missed. Although she did not grow up on a farm, she loved working with cattle and quickly learned to handle all tasks that go along with farm work on a purebred cattle operation and had become an expert doing these tasks that she found so enjoyable.

Kristin is survived by her husband, R. Bruce Van Meter, Armuchee, GA; son, Bruce Anderson “Little Bruce” Van Meter, Armuchee, GA; two step-sons, Eli and Gabe Van Meter, Rome, GA ; her parents, beloved sisters, niece and nephews as well as other “family”, “Grandpa” Jay and “Grandma” Phylis Anderson, St. Paul, NE, “Uncles” Warren Garrett, Canton, TX, Andy Peterson, Pensacola, FL and John Howard, LaFayette, GA. General Information: Internet: 21st Annual Southern Showcase catalog and videos can be viewed online at www.impactcattle.com. Internet bidding will be available sale day at DVAuction.com.

Health: A veterinarian will be available sale day to write interstate health papers at no cost to the buyer. An update sale sheet will also be available sale day listing information not available at catalog press time.

Trucking: Trucking will be no more than $250 per lot to central US locations when arranged by sale management.

Lot Numbers: Ear tags on cattle correspond to the lot numbers in the catalog.

Terms and Conditions: The cattle sell under the standard terms and conditions recommended by the respective breed organizations. Payment must be made in full in the form of cash or good check on sale day, US dollars only.

Breeding Guarantee: Every open heifer selling is guaranteed to be open at the time of the sale and guaranteed to be a satisfactory breeder provided they receive proper and acceptable management from the buyer after the sale. Should a heifer prove to be a non-breeder, the customer must contact the consignor on or before February 19, 2018 to make a claim. A veterinarian’s statement detailing the heifer to be a non-breeder will be required and the consignor reserves the right to have the heifer returned to the sale site. The customer will be given a full credit (minus salvage value of the original heifer) to be used in a future Southern Showcase Sale or private treaty purchase from the consignor. Every bred female is guaranteed to be bred on sale day as stated in the sale catalog or as updated from the auctioneer at the time of the sale or on the update sheet provided at the sale. In the event any bred female is found to not be bred as sold, the customer needs to contact the consignor immediately and no later than February 19, 2018. The customer will be given a satisfactory credit to be used in a future Southern Showcase Sale or in a private treaty purchase from the consignor.

Food: Lunch will be available at the sale site.

Absentee Bids: The sale manager or any member of the sale staff will be happy to assist you with your purchases. There will be no charge to you for this service and every effort will be made to insure your total satisfaction with your purchases.

Livestock Insurance: Livestock mortality insurance will be available for your purchases at the clerk’s desk and is required on all cattle when the sale staff arranges trucking.

EPD’s: EPD’s listed are the most current available at the time of catalog production.

Liability: Everyone attends the sale at his or her own risk. The sale manager, auctioneer, consignors, and Select Cattle Enterprises assume no liability whatsoever as to risk or personal injury.
