GETTING THERE

Ventana al Cielo has easy, year-round access. Access this special place from the north or the south via I-25 and then travel westbound on Highway 160 to the quaint town of La Veta, Colorado. Enjoy a short and scenic stretch of the Highway of Legends south out of La Veta and exit at the Cuchara River Estate gate.

From Denver, it is a straight shot south and will take approximately three hours; from Colorado Springs, it’s under two hours. For those on the Front Range of Colorado, you will find easy driving with no snowy mountain passes to cross.

AIRPORT SERVICES

Several commercial airports are within an easy drive of Ventana al Cielo. Colorado Springs Airport is within a two-hour drive and has direct and connecting service to many major destinations. Denver International Airport is approximately three hours away. Pueblo Memorial Airport is 45 minutes away and has connecting airline service and corporate aircraft facilities. Ventana al Cielo, at 7,800 feet in elevation, has summer days that are generally sunny, warm, and beautiful, with temperatures in the 70 to 80-degree range. The nights get nice and cool, with temperatures ranging between 40 and 50 degrees. With 300 plus days of sunshine per year, winter days can be quite temperate. Snow falls vary but generally, in the winter months of December thru April, Ventana al Cielo will have snow on the ground, and the surrounding higher mountains will be coated with beautiful powder snow.

The La Veta and Cuchara area of southern Colorado offers an array of outdoor activities to fill your days.
