FISHING

The Grand Ronde River winds through northeast Oregon and southeast Washington for approximately 210 miles before joining the Snake River. Flowing through the scenic Blue Mountains, the river’s course once formed part of the historic Oregon Trail. Today, the Grand Ronde is celebrated for its outstanding fishing—especially for steelhead, rainbow trout, and smallmouth bass—and its opportunities for rafting and wildlife viewing. A designated portion of the river is protected as a National Wild and Scenic River, preserving its natural beauty and ecological integrity for future generations.

SHED HUNTING

As you enjoy the property, you should always look for antlers on the ground. Male deer shed their antlers annually in late winter or early spring, a process triggered by hormonal changes. New antlers begin to grow shortly after shedding, often larger and more impressive than in previous years. Shed antlers have a surprising number of uses. People collect them for decoration, crafting, and even practical purposes such as making dog chews!
