Ker & Downey Ker & Downey offers the finest, most complete adventure program in Nepal. Our programs enable you to experience all aspects of this wonderful exciting country.

Located in the Annapurna Mountains, we offer trails using purpose built lodges constructed and managed by an American company with 20 years experience in both Africa and Nepal.

But from 1st march 2013, the ownership of Ker & Downey has shifted to Yeti Group of Companies. However, the overall management will be same under the supervision of Mr. Duncan Baker. All lodges are a day walk apart and allow guests to experience in comfort some of the most spectacular mountain vistas in the world.

Trekking in Nepal has always been associated with sleeping in small tents on hard beds or mats, washing in cold water, sharing communal toilets and living fairly basically. Ker and Downey is unique in Nepal as it offers the only program which allows guests to experience the magnificent scenery in style and comfort whilst staying in ensuite rooms with comfortable beds with sheets, blankets, down pillows and hot water bottles.

Sanctuary Lodge Birethanti

With stunning views of the sacred Fishtail Mountain in the distance, this stylish lodge at 3362 feet was hand crafted by local artisans. Drive an hour and 15 minutes to road head called Nayapul.

From where you can either walk for 1 and half to 2 hours along with beautiful Modi River passing quiet villages to reach Sanctuary Lodge, Birethanti or you can hire a 4 x 4 jeep which will get you there in 30 minutes from the road. This lodge has a total of 18 comfortable rooms with a local touch.

Himalaya Lodge Ghandruk

Located at over 6363 feet, the Himalaya Lodge, in the shadow of the Annapurna overlooks Ghandruk, once a popular recruitment location for the Gurkha soldier regiment.

This lodge is further away closer to the mountains and takes a slightly longer time and more difficult walk than the other lodges. From the Sanctuary lodge of 5 hours walk will get you to Himalaya Lodge. Slightly more difficult but suitable to all ages. This 18 rooms property has one of the best Mountain views and numerous sights of villages agricultural terrace fields and numerous wildlife.

La Bee Lodge Landruk

La Bee lodge is located in Landruk (5379 ft.) a typical village of the Gurung community who are also known as the famous Gorkha Army. The lodge has breathtaking views of the Annapurna south and is a recent addition to our lodges with 12 typical locally oriented rooms.

Gurung Lodge Majgaon

Tribal-style houses and manicured garden comprise the Gurung lodge on the edge of the Majhgaon.

Located at 4756 feet the views of surrounding valleys are truly incredible and provide excellent photographic opportunities.

One can get there by short 1 hour drive from Pokhara to the road head Lumle form where one can take a leisurely walk for 1 and half hours to 2 hours to reach Gurung Lodge, Majhgaon. As the name suggests there are 11 neat rooms all with attached bathrooms depicting a typical Gurung house.

Basanta Lodge Dhampus

The Basanta Lodge at 5570 feet in Dhampus offers panoramic views of the Phedi and Mardi Valleys. Nearby activities include nature walks through thick forests of bamboo, conifer and rhododendrons.

Another 3 hours walk form Gurung lodge through pine forest and villages gets you to our Basanta Lodge. This is the smallest lodge with only 8 rooms with panoramic views of the entire Annapurna range.

Mala Lodge Tomijung

Cradled in the lap of the Annapurna lowlands amongst rice terraces and a quaint bee keeping village, Mala Lodge (4740 ft.) is a sanctuary with the Machhapuchhre Mountain looming tall as if protecting it.

This is the new addition to our lodges & have 18 typically locally oriented rooms.

3 Mountain Lodge Gamal Chhap, Bandipur

Three Mountain Lodge (3316 ft.) is situated in the small hilltop settlement of Bandipur village which has preserved its old time cultural atmosphere and is living museum of Newari culture. The lodge offers a magnificent views of 3 mountains Manaslu (8,156m), Annapurna (8,091m) and Dhaulagiri (8,167m). This is a newer addition to our lodges and has 12 rooms with traditional touch.

Seti River Camp Dharampani Dhap

Thrilling river rafting (886 ft.) excursions and restful moments in rustic and relaxing accommodations await travelers in the remote camp set next to the river, in Nepal’s verdant forest near Pokhara.

The only way to get to this river camp is by 2 and half hours rafting trip, on a grade to river rapid suitable for any age groups.
