"SINCE WE TREAD ALONG THE SAME PATH, LET US LEND A HAND TO ONE ANOTHER."

BLESSED

MARIE-ROSE DUROCHER

Foundress of the Sisters of the Holy Names of

Jesus and Mary

DEAR FRIENDS,

As we come to the end of another academic year, we can reflect with gratitude that the accomplishments of our students who continue to make us proud. You, our generous donors, have helped to make this possible. Without your support, engaging our talented faculty and staff, offering the extensive

curricular and co-curricular programs, maintaining our beautiful 19 acre campus, and providing tuition assistance to 63% of our young women would not be possible. Know that whatever the amount of your gift, it makes a difference. We are grateful to have each and every one of you as part of our Ramona family and hope that you will be able to join us on campus for some of our events…or just to visit. You are always welcome!

Each year we reflect on the CORE values of the Sisters of the Holy Names and challenge ourselves to bring them to life. The value of Hospitality (being a gracious, accepting, and welcoming presence to each person) has held special meaning for us this year as we were called upon to open wide our arms to welcome young women from the two all-girls’ schools that closed in June: Alverno and Holy Family. We are happy to welcome a total of forty-six new sophomores, juniors, and seniors as Ramona Tigers and look forward to the gifts that they will bring to our Ramona community.

Thank you!

When I graduated from Ramona in the early 1970’s, I never imagined that I would return mid-life and become thoroughly immersed in its mission and philosophy. Over the years, I’ve watched two decades of students begin their Ramona experience as unsure teenagers and emerge four years later as confident

young women with a vision for their future and the tools to achieve it. So much of Ramona’s ability to offer our students an invaluable education is a result of your continued financial support. We thank you and the students thank you!

What strikes me most is the wide variety of careers that are available to our graduates. Some of the declared majors of the Class of 2023 include biomedical engineering, architectural design, environmental science, criminal justice, film and media studies, and civil engineering. It must be difficult for the seniors to select a major because there are so many choices! I am very optimistic with regard to their futures and eagerly look forward to their inevitable positive contributions to the global community.

Through your support, we continue to be successful in our mission. Picture in your mind our younger Ramona alumnae as they make their mark in their chosen careers…you helped them get there! Thank you!.

Sincerely,

I will always feel the impact of the education, confidence and compassion I learned as a student at Ramona. It is awe-inspiring to see how the commitment to provide her unique excellence to young women who have passed through her doors for 134 years has not changed.

Legacy Gifts

Create your legacy, and pass the baton. – Billie Jean King

This past year we received a gift from an alumna who had designated that a percentage of her estate should go to Ramona upon her death. This woman’s life after Ramona was very similar to many of ours. She attended college, married, and raised a family. She was very involved in her parish and held leadership positions in various Catholic organizations. She experienced the loss of loved ones but devoted herself to her husband, children and grandchildren, and throughout her busy life, she cherished her years at Ramona. Her daughter, who was the executor, followed her wishes and we were the recipients of $46,000. We were honored to have been remembered in this way.

Legacy giving, also known as planned giving, allows you to support the work of Ramona while protecting your personal interests. There are a variety of planned giving options that can be tailored to your individual financial and charitable objectives.

The simplest and most effective way is to make a bequest in your will or living trust.

This can be done by specifying a predetermined dollar amount, property, a percentage of your estate or residue of your estate for the benefit of Ramona. Another way to make a significant gift to Ramona is with life insurance or stock. You may transfer an existing life insurance policy that is no longer needed.

If you would like to consider a gift that will create a lasting legacy for future generations of Ramona students, please contact: Julie Huntley ‘72

SCHOLARSHIP GIVING

When Ramona graduates enter college they are prepared, confident and empowered with the strength of conviction that results from a SNJM education. During their four years here, Ramona has guided and supported them in becoming the remarkable women they were meant to be.

In the 2022– 2023 school year, Ramona awarded tuition assistance to over 60% of our students. Recognizing that we as a community want to help young women benefit from a Ramona education, we acknowledge and are grateful for the combined generosity of our alumnae, friends, and foundation partners.

La Fête 2024 - April 27th

La Fête is Ramona's largest fundraiser of the year, featuring an online silent auction, opportunity drawing component, and the opportunity to raise scholarship funds through Support Our Scholars.

We are always looking for great partners to contribute to the success of La Fête! From individual or corporate sponsors to local businesses that would like to donate an item to the auction or place an ad in the program. There are so many ways to participate all while supporting the students of Ramona!

If you'd like to get involved please contact Kelsey Davidson '02, Alumnae & Special Events Manager kdavidson@ramonconvent.org

Reunion Giving

Reunions affirm that the Ramona experience endures for a lifetime, and while buildings and teachers may change, the values of Ramona remain constant. Reunions are also an opportunity to commemorate your Ramona experience with a reunion class gift through the Alumnae Scholarship Fund. Each reunion class sets ambitious dollar and participation goals to send a powerful message that your class is committed to the ongoing vibrancy of Ramona.

Reunion Giving Campaigns provide the opportunity for an entire class to honor their milestone year with a collective contribution to a single purpose. A scholarship fund can be established in honor of your class, then classes are encouraged to share their Reunion Giving Campaign and inspire their classmates to join!

Reunion Giving Campaigns are led by volunteers who dedicate their time and talent to inspiring their classmates. In this role, the Class Gift Leader will share why philanthropy to Ramona is an important part of their alumnae experience and will solicit gifts from classmates. If you would like to volunteer to be a Gift Leader for your class, please contact Julie Huntley.
