Providing a touch of greenery in the heart of Dakar. Indeed, the challenge is to achieve the right compromise between the desire to create a new, modern core and ensuring the sustainability of the site's specific biodiversity. This generates the metaphor of the Green Footbridge, which summarizes our awareness of the various dichotomous issues of fullness/emptiness, nature/built-up areas, etc.—a footbridge that respects the specificity of the site but also showcases Dakar's sociocultural and economic effervescence. To achieve this, the goal is to work with and through biodiversity for sustainable development. Living things are therefore at the center of our thinking. Flora and fauna are also considered, along with humans, of course, as key players in the project's design. This is evident both in the functional and spatial considerations, as well as in the project's formal approach. Indeed, the project's form and its key themes borrow from natural forms (fauna and flora). In addition, a scenography is orchestrated by shaping the rhythm of the seasons. The designed space represents evolving and dynamic configurations over time, leveraging local expertise.

This territorial project also aims to create a friendly bridge for meetings and exchanges, developing the socioeconomic and cultural dynamism of the city by leveraging local initiatives, fostering collective civic initiatives, and fostering social and intergenerational connections around landmarks serving the local population and visitors.

Urban Redevelopment of the Borj-Echerch District: “The Primacy of the Imaginary” A historic center is a privileged space, precious and unique due to its past, its urban stratifications, and its heritage. Beginning in the 20th century, urban development was so brutal that the city did not have time to absorb it. The creation of new neighborhoods multiplied, abandoning the old cores. With
modern
life
being
assumed,
the
historic
center
suffered
through
"disembowelments," the destruction of vernacular fabric. Only historic monuments could emerge unscathed from this devastation. Preserving simple historic monuments was not enough to preserve the symbolic dimension of the historic center. Little by little, the latter became homogenized with the rest of the city, taking with it the evidence of previous societies. To seek an architecture of particular cases where the pure idea confronts the principles of reality. An architecture of bias, without compromise, going against the dominant idealized cynicism. It requires consideration of place, time, space, opportunity, circumstance, project, technology, and environment, inscription in a design without duplicate, construction with solids, passion, matter, desire, textures, stories... It lies between the scale of the landscape and that of the individual; there is no intermediate scale; it is an architecture of the pulpit. Our journey of rediscovering this part of the Sousse medina often begins where there is a challenge. We are here to verify that imagination is far stronger than knowledge. As there is no such thing as chance, it is normal that to put each of these wishes into practice our field of action is most often, but not only, that of culture and that of urban voids and neglected neighborhoods.

This proposal for the new Headquarters of the Town Hall of Sousse embodies the values of civic dignity, environmental responsibility, and architectural innovation. The design articulates a bold and contemporary vision while rooting itself in the cultural and urban identity of the city. Its composition is a harmonious blend of form, function, and sustainability. The building asserts its presence with a monumental volumetry and a clear sense of symmetry, framed by two dominant vertical wings. These facades are rhythmically punctuated by vertical slits and perforated brise-soleil screens, which not only enhance the aesthetic quality but also contribute to passive solar control. Seasonal variation is introduced through an ephemeral forest, whose deciduous trees create dynamic changes in color and atmosphere throughout the year. Additionally, the park incorporates a shared vegetable garden and a community orchard, fostering urban agriculture, food education, and social interaction. Overall, the project embodies a layered and inclusive approach to urban ecology, balancing functionality, sustainability, and community engagement in a resilient and adaptable public space.

SERIES & PATTERNS – BUILDING SCALE SPRING 2020,
STUDENT HOUSING

The studio was to design a Student Housing near the Polytechnic School of Sousse. Drawing my bedroom gave me an understanding of the basic dimensions needed for working sleeping as well how I layout my furniture. Learning from my room, I wanted to separate the workspace from the Bedroom. I designed a 4-ROOM Unit where each room has its own BedRoom, WorkRoom and BathRoom. Each Room is connected to a shared Kitchen and LivingRoom via a StairCase. Each StairCase/Connector has two usable sides, the interior connects a Shared Room with Private Room and exterior to create new social spaces in the atrium. This Algorithm/Logic allowed me to design a series of 2-Room Units that could potentially stack together to form a greater variety Based on the different stairs the Private Rooms can Connect to the Shared Rooms; I created 13 different units. Each of the 13 different units had 6 different “Orientations” as shown in the Unit Matrix. Then I used a grasshopper algorithm to stack the different units together to create a Matrix of 800+ Units. I then organized them into a table to observe the common properties of groups in columns and rows inside the matrix. In the end, I chose 3 simple units, added more detail to them, and stacked them such that they can produce a social atrium where all workspaces look into the atrium, and all bedrooms face outwards.

The main volume is enveloped in a modular system that seems to float around a transparent core, revealing an intricate internal structure. This transparency suggests a public or semipublic function at the heart of the building, possibly an atrium or a vertical circulation space. The outer skin appears to provide shading and privacy while maintaining visual interest and ventilation. The base of the building is lifted from the ground by a geometrically intricate support structure, creating a porous connection at the ground level. This allows for pedestrian interaction and blurs the boundary between public space and private structure—possibly indicating a mixed-use or cultural program. Flanked by more monolithic, rectilinear volumes in a simplified brown massing (likely representing surrounding context buildings), this project asserts its uniqueness while still responding to the urban grid. The design emphasizes material contrast, modular repetition, and an innovative take on spatial hierarchy.

Imagine a place where the threads of history intertwine with the vibrant colors of the future. This is the vision behind the redevelopment of the "Coton" market in Ksar-Hellal, a project designed not just to renovate a space, but to revitalize the very heart of the city. We embarked on a journey to reimagine this vital urban space, understanding that a market is more than just a place of commerce; it's a social hub, a cultural touchstone, and a reflection of the community's identity. My approach was rooted in deep respect for Ksar-Hellal's heritage, particularly its rich textile industry. The design concept draws inspiration from the intricate patterns and textures of woven fabrics, translating them into architectural forms that are both modern and deeply connected to the city's past. The market's new structure is envisioned as a light-filled, airy space, covered by a latticed roof that filters sunlight, creating a dynamic play of light and shadow reminiscent of traditional weaving techniques. This roof isn't just aesthetically pleasing; it's designed to be environmentally sustainable, incorporating solar panels to harness the abundant Tunisian sunshine.

This visionary project reimagines the transformation of the Teboulba waterfront in Monastir into a fluid, harmonious interface between the city and its port. “Reconnecting Teboulba” embodies a bold approach to sustainable urban regeneration, where the rigid boundaries between port infrastructure and urban fabric dissolve, giving way to a vibrant coastal landscape that is accessible, inclusive, and rich in identity.

The masterplan envisions a dynamic seafront promenade dotted with playful public spaces, cultural hubs, contemporary pavilions, urban beaches, and elegant pedestrian bridges that seamlessly blend into the blue of the Mediterranean. The sea is no longer a barrier, but a natural extension of the city a reflective surface that mirrors the organic, wave-like forms of biomimetic architecture and the city's forward-looking aspirations. Soft mobility is at the heart of the design, fostering a gentle coexistence between pedestrians, cyclists, and maritime users. This project is not merely a requalification, but rather a poetic, ecological, and social reconnection between people, water, and the city. Teboulba thus becomes a symbol of how a city can reclaim and redefine its coastline by and for its community.
