Nature Quest
Annie Louise Wilkerson, MD Nature Preserve Park
What is the Raleigh Parks Nature Quest?
Our preserves and parks are treasure troves of amazing critters and habitats that are fast disappearing elsewhere. Getting to know our non-human neighbors in Raleigh is important so we can help preserve the home we share with them and involve our children in our natural heritage. Through this program, participants will have the opportunity to engage in the natural world of Raleigh and the unique occurrences happening in each space.
How to Participate?
Your goal is to visit each of the parks and preserves in this passport guide, earning points through unique forms of engagement at each location. To earn points at a site, take part in listed activities for each site. You could do these activities on your own, in groups, or through programs and volunteer days.
Once you have completed an activity, see a site staff member to have points marked on your passport. Once you have earned five points at a site, a staff member will give you a special, sitespecific stamp. Once you have earned five points at all sites, you will have earned a prize at your final location. If no staff are available when you have completed an activity or the quest, feel free to come back later to collect your winnings.
Need help with any of the activities in this quest? Please go to the front desk at any facility for assistance.
