iPad Basics Series 1 - 3 and iCloud This iPad series of courses helps you get comfortable and confident using your iPad by teaching essential gestures, smart settings, and everyday tools that make your device easier and more enjoyable to use. You’ll learn how to navigate smoothly, manage apps and notifications, adjust key settings, communicate with ease, and use features like FaceTime, AirDrop, Siri, and the camera. The program also covers privacy, security, battery optimization, accessibility tools, and ways to boost performance while protecting your personal information. By the end, you’ll know how to customize your device, save time, reduce distractions, and make your iPad work better for your daily life. And iCloud lets you securely store, sync, back up, and access your iPad content across devices while offering tools to find or protect a lost device.

Lost your device? iCloud can help you find your device by locking it, forcing it to play sounds, or even erase it remotely using iCloud on any device that has a web browser. No Apple device required! It can even map turn-by-turn directions to its last known location! Whether you're looking to back up your data or streamline your digital life, this course will guide you step-by-step. Prerequisite: Completion of iPad/iPhone Basics 1 or intermediate-level experience.

Just got your iPad? Or maybe you've had it for a while but feel like you're only scratching the surface? This course is your launchpad. We’ll guide you through the must-know features that make your iPad smart, sleek, and surprisingly capable. By the end, you’ll feel confident, in control, and ready to make your iPad work for you. Some of the things you will learn: • Effortless navigation using gestures • Finding and managing your apps • Staying on top of notifications • Creating and favoriting contacts • Copying and pasting key info like words, numbers, and URLs • Adjusting auto-lock, screen size, and brightness • Setting up emergency contacts and bypass • Texting with flair—speech-to-text, emojis, and photo sharing • Managing reminders, calendar events, and time settings • Using FaceTime for video calls • Capturing memories with your camera • Sharing files instantly with AirDrop • Accessing key settings through the Control Panel

By the end of this course, you won’t just know your way around an iPad—you’ll feel confident, capable, and excited to use it every day. We’re here to support you every step of the way, so let’s get started and make your device truly work for you. Please bring your own iPad to each session, as we won’t have extras available.

TechRefresh is an ongoing support program for students who have completed a Digital Inclusion Adult Technology class. It gives you dedicated time with an instructor to revisit any topics you’ve covered, get deeper explanations, and troubleshoot challenges one-on-one. Who Can Participate:

• Must have completed a course related to the refresh topic • Enrollment in TechRefresh is free for eligible alumni What to Bring:

• Your personal laptop, smartphone, or iPad with any relevant files or notes • List of topics or questions you want to cover How It Works:

• Register for your TechRefresh session • A representative will contact you the day before to give you an appointment time and to ask questions • Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to set up your device and materials
