Camp Security Tags
• Security Tags will be issued to parent/guardians with an ID that matches the registration form. City of Raleigh will not issue tags to non-present parent/guardians.
• Be prepared to show your security tags and ID with photo.
• Inform staff of any changes to your pick-up list.
• Please inform anyone picking up the participant that they will be required to show a picture ID.
• Children will not be released without proper ID.
Late Fee Policy
You must pick up your camper(s) no later than 6:00 pm or a late fee will be charged.
Participants picked up after the closing time of a program will be charged a late fee as follows:
1-15 mins: $15
16-30 mins: $30
31-60 mins: $45
Camper Expectations
• Campers are expected to maintain a positive attitude while using appropriate language and behavior.
• Campers are expected to stay with their counselors and follow their instructions.
• Campers are expected to be willing to try all activities with a positive attitude.
Parent/Guardian Expectations

What to Bring to Camp?
• Lunch (no refrigeration or warming)
• Snack (x2)
• Drinks
• Labeled re-fillable water bottle
• Comfortable clothing for play
• Athletic Shoes (closed toe)
• Sunscreen and Hat
• Insect Repellent
*Please label all personal items with name!
Food Participants are not allowed to share lunches or snacks, this includes siblings.
Notify camp staff with any participant food allergies or dietary restrictions.
Ensure participants have enough food – lunch and 2 snacks. Campers are not permitted to use the vending machines.
If bringing food in for group (ex. Cupcakes for birthday) please notify camp director at least 24 hours in advance.
Food to share must be store bought.
Camper Dress
Campers will be active and should wear cool, comfortable clothing, and athletic shoes. Rubber shoes/’Crocs’ are not recommended attire for active recreation activities.
Camper should NOT wear:
• Sandals or flip-flops;
• Shirts with spaghetti straps;
• Clothing that displays drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or gang references;
• Excessively loose or tight pants/shirts;
• Revealing clothing.

Staff Identification
All staff members must wear identification via staff shirt and/or staff badge. You should not leave your child with anyone who does not have proper visible staff identification.

Crossroads (Tuesdays) Ridge Road Pool Pool
City of Raleigh Swim Test
Participants will swim the length of the pool (25 yards) without touching the bottom or the lane lines.
Next, they will exit the pool and re-enter by jumping in. They must be fully submerged and resurface.
Finally, participants are required to tread water continuously for 30 seconds, without touching the bottom or the lane lines.
Medications
• All medications must be contained in an original prescription bottle and appropriately labeled.
• Over-the-counter medications – must be in original package
• EPI-Pen and Inhalers – are highly recommended, if needed.
• Medication form – parents must fill out for each medication
• Only one week’s worth of medication will be accepted.
• If appropriate, please try to administer your child’s medication while at home
Sunscreen/Insect Repellent
• Apply sunscreen before arriving to camp each day.
• Label the bottle with your camper’s name(s).
• Camp staff may assist in applying sunscreen only to areas where the camper cannot reach.
• Aerosol spray sunscreen is recommended.
• Sunscreen/Insect Repellent may not be shared with other campers.
Sickness/Illness
Camper should remain home from camp if they have any of the following:
•Experiencing any of the following symptoms
•Sick or experiencing symptoms of illness
•100 fever or higher
•Sore throat
•Diarrhea or vomiting
•New severe headache
•Contagious rash or other condition
(chicken pox, pink eye, ring worm, lice, etc.)
•If called to pick up you have 1 hour.
•Leave home until 24 hours symptom free or with a doctors note
Inclusion Services
Inclusion Services provides additional training, supplies and support to families and sites who request an ADA accommodation. If at any point, your child is struggling, please reach out and we can have further conversations about strategies that might increase your participants success in Explorers Camp!
If your child requires emergency medication for conditions such as Diabetes or Seizures, please reach out to Inclusion Services at parksinclusion@raleighnc.gov at least 2 weeks prior to the week they are attending. Additional forms requiring doctors' signatures may take additional time.
