Alexa is a virtual assistant developed by Amazon that allows you to interact with it in your home using a smart speaker called Echo. The Echo Smart Speaker can check your calendar, weather, traffic, and sports scores, manage to-do and shopping lists, control your compatible smart lights, thermostats, garage doors, sprinklers, and more by saying commands. Learn about its exciting two-way intercom feature allowing you to talk to a family member inside your home, even if you are outside or miles away! Learn the basic setup. What you will learn: • Ask Alexa for weather, news, facts, sports, and general info • Control smart home devices like lights, plugs, thermostats, locks, and cameras • Set timers, alarms, and reminders hands-free • Use Drop-in like an intercom and call to connect with other Echo devices or contacts • Create shopping and to-do lists that sync to your phone • Spell words, and get quick answers • Play music from Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music, and more • Stream radio, podcasts, and audiobooks • Run multiple actions at once with routines • Add skills to expand Alexa’s abilities

TechRefresh is an ongoing support program for students who have completed a Digital Inclusion Adult Technology class. It gives you dedicated time with an instructor to revisit any topics you’ve covered, get deeper explanations, and troubleshoot challenges one-on-one. Who Can Participate:
• Must have completed a course related to the refresh topic • Enrollment in TechRefresh is free for eligible alumni What to Bring:
• Your personal laptop, smartphone, or iPad with any relevant files or notes • List of topics or questions you want to cover How It Works:
• Register for your TechRefresh session • A representative will contact you the day before to give you an appointment time and to ask questions • Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to set up your device and materials
