Raleigh Dance Theatre (RDT), affiliate performance company of The Raleigh School of Ballet, was founded in 1984 by Ann Vorus to provide performance training for young dancers while fostering the art of dance in the community.
Now led by Artistic Director, Megan Marvel, each fall, Raleigh Dance Theatre presents a family-oriented production to entertain and develop future ballet audiences. In the spring, the company presents Spring Repertoire, a diverse program that features new work by nationally renowned choreographers and a traditional ballet from the classical repertoire.
RDT’s outreach activities include the Storybook Tales George W. Newton School performance and the Girl Scouts-NC Coastal Pines performance which bring children into the theatre who may not otherwise have the opportunity.
