Bro. Pritchard Moncriffe announced officers and committee leaders for the Oklahoma District for 2018-19.

To create a new level of communication, Oklahoma District Director Moncriffe is establishing a quarterly newsletter that will feature news and information about the District and the various chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. across the state.

Chapter presidents are asked to share photos, captions and updates about the activities of their chapter throughout the year.

Upcoming events can also be highlighted. Brothers with businesses are encouraged to purchase space to advertise their goods and services.

Grogan Unveils First Alpha University

By Anthony Grogan Jr. Oklahoma Assistant District Director The Oklahoma District hosted its inaugural Alpha University on Saturday, August 18, at Langston University, Oklahoma City.

The purpose of this event was to educate brothers on various protocols and procedures regarding our dear Fraternity.

The event was mandatory for all brothers. There were various workshops for college and alumni brothers including reclamation, as well as IMDP Training.

First of All... District Director Bro. Pritchard Moncriffe Brotherhood. What does that mean in today’s world?

I know for a fact what that means to brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. You only have to look at the two men shaking hands in celebration of 70 years of brotherhood.

These true brothers will work together, build together, laugh together and when hell freezes over, they will fight together on the ice … that’s brotherhood.

ATL Hosts Voter Education Forum Tulsa’s Alumni Chapter, Alpha Tau Lambda, held a political forum for the hotly contested District 1 City Council position maintained by incumbent Vanessa Hall-Harper.

Nearly 200 people were in attendance, August 9, for the forum which featured Hall-Harper’s opponents, first-time candidate Jerry Goodwin and former Tulsa School Board President Lana Turner-Addison.

Bro. Keidron Dotson moderated the forum at the Rudisill Regional Library in Tulsa.

The Lawton chapter’s banquet focused on character and education.

Despite Goodwin’s heavyweight credentials, and Turner-Addison’s public entrenchment, Hall -Harper went on to an easy victory in the August 28 primary election topping both candidates with 58 percent of the votes.

ATL provided voter materials and voter registration forms as part of the fraternity’s A Voteless People is a Hopeless People campaign.
