ABOUT THE CENTRAL LIBRARY
The Shiv Nadar University's Central Library is a cornerstone of academic life at the University, providing a modern, dynamic environment for research, learning, and knowledge sharing. Spread across 35,000 square feet on two floors, the library offers state-of-the-art facilities to support the academic and research needs of students, faculty, and researchers.
Accessible through the online portal https://library.snu.edu.in/, the library provides users with an extensive range of academic resources, including journals, e-journals, online databases, Ph.D. theses, and project reports. The library ensures that users have easy access to these resources remotely, facilitated by Shibboleth, allowing faculty and students to access invaluable content from anywhere.
The library is fully automated, utilising the Koha Integrated Library Management System (ILMS), and incorporates RFID technology for seamless book borrowing and returning through self-check-in/check-out kiosks.
Additionally, the library hosts an institutional repository, DSpace (Digital Repository Software), where a wealth of academic resources such as Ph.D. theses, project reports, and faculty publications are accessible through the University's intranet.
As part of its commitment to providing global access to knowledge, the library is a member of numerous prestigious consortiums and academic societies, including ACM Digital Library, IEEE, ASCE, APS, and RSC.
With its cutting-edge infrastructure and a wealth of resources, the Shiv Nadar University Library continues to be a central hub of academic excellence, supporting the intellectual pursuits of the university community.

With its ship-like regal structure, the iconic Shiv Nadar University Central Library is one of the most visited and admired locations on campus. The centrally air-conditioned library provides a welcoming and dynamic environment for students and faculty to engage with various academic resources. It offers an extensive collection of books, scientific and technical journals, electronic reference materials, and different multimedia resources to support the educational and research needs of the university community.
Equipped with a fully automated process, the library's Information Centre includes various sections such as reference, circulation, audiovisual, periodicals, and dedicated spaces for e-journals, theses, dissertations, and institutional repositories. These resources cater to the diverse academic demands of students and researchers at all levels. The library's openaccess digital collections ensure that information is easily accessible to users, even remotely, through Shibboleth for e-resources.
In addition to its impressive infrastructure, the library incorporates cutting-edge technologies, including RFID-based self-check-in/check-out kiosks for seamless access to library materials. ABOUT THE SEMINAR
The 2-day National Seminar on Resource Sharing: Innovative Policies to Strengthen Library Networking, scheduled for May 8 and 9, 2025, will bring together academic librarians and professionals across India to discuss pressing issues and share knowledge on strengthening library networking. The event will focus on key topics such as "One Nation, One Subscription," digital resource archives, library consortia, and more.
The seminar will provide practical solutions and actionable insights to benefit libraries of all sizes. As the landscape of libraries evolves in response to new challenges and opportunities, resource sharing remains a fundamental part of ensuring equitable and comprehensive access to information for all.
Through this seminar, we aim to foster collaboration and build a unified vision for the future of library resource sharing across the country.
