Dear fellow Rotarians, Namaste Jojolapa and Warm Greetings !!!! Yes, we did it; we contributed, collaborated, and served to change lives in 2021-22. It seems like only yesterday that I took over as President of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height, and now the year has come to an end with many new experiences. This is my final official message as President of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height. A year has passed since taking over the roles and responsibilities left by the previous tenure, which had already exceeded expectations. Upholding the club's legacy and pride was a herculean task. There was a lot of hope and expectation on all sides to lead the club to great new heights. The challenge was not with others, but with oneself, the desire to be better than the previous one, the desire to serve more, to explore more new horizons, and all of this was waiting at the start. The tenure began with many visions in my eyes and desires in my heart. I couldn't count the number of sleepless nights I spent preparing for projects, motivating each and every member, aspiring the work hard techniques, and managing events. From home to office, the topic of discussion was one and only ROTARY (even office lads were amazed and surprised). There was no need for any reminder that would tell you to do this or that, it would be hitting your cerebrum at all times until and unless you completed it. It was as if you were always talking, doing, eating, and sleeping Rotary. You are not only president, but also a true leader, coordinating and monitoring every event. At times, I felt very low because things were hectic, but what kept me going was the hope and zeal of enthusiastic Rotarians to reinforce the need to act, serve, and change lives. It gives me great pleasure today to see all of my dreams and visions come true. The year flew by in the blink of an eye. Last but not least, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your love and unwavering support for me and my club, the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height, throughout the year. Joining hands for a better world through fellowship through service and service above self, in accordance with the Rotary four-way test. In this regard, I would like to extend my best wishes to President-Elect Rtn. Raja Ram Joshi and his team for the Rotary year 2022-23.

from the incoming president
Dear fellow members, Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height As I write this message as RCKH's president-elect, I am filled with pride, gratitude, and optimism. First and foremost, I would like to congratulate Rtn. Sachin Awale on completing his Presidency for the rotary year 2021/22. I'd like to express my heartfelt gratitude to every Rotarian at RC Kathmandu Height for carrying out the critical tasks required of our club during these trying times. Each of you is an outstanding example of dedication, professionalism, and teamwork. I am grateful to the Board of Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height for their confidence and to all those who have welcomed me so warmly and shared their profound dedication to RCKH. I'd also like to thank President Rtn. Sachin Awale for his excellent leadership and for guiding a transition that will allow the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height to maintain momentum while allowing me to spend the coming year listening and learning. We can all be proud of our ability to adapt and unite, and we can all continue to live our motto, Service Above Self, every day. We have continued to provide assistance to the most vulnerable members of our communities while also addressing the numerous additional needs that have arisen as a result of various situations. I am looking forward to the day when we will be able to collaborate more freely on project ideas and connect with our friends, neighbors, and those we serve. As President for 2022/23, I would like to collaborate with each individual member on projects, meetings, and events so that we can better understand each other and make a difference. As our RI president Jennifer Jones formulated 22/23 theme “imagine Rotary”, yes “It is our offer of hands-on service, personal growth, leadership development, and lifelong friendships that creates purpose and passion,” Imagine a world that deserves our best where we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference. Although we all have dreams, acting on them is something we choose to do. When our organization, Rotary, dreams big dreams like ending polio and bringing peace to the world, it becomes our responsibility to make them a reality. “We don’t imagine yesterday, we imagine tomorrow.” Finally, with a sense of great responsibility and hope, I ask all of you to join me in building on RCKH's excellence, deepening the mutual support of this extraordinary world, and continuing to take that leadership out into the world, beginning now and for many years to come. With appreciation, Yours In Rotary

Letter from the Governor
Rtn. Shekhar Mehta RI President 2021-22
Rtn. Santosh Prasad Rijal District Governor RI District 3292
GREETINGS, MY DEAR CHANGEMAKERS, What a year it has been for Rotary. You have lived up to every challenge, including to grow more, do more, and Rotary has grown in a way that we haven’t in many years. This year saw lifechanging new projects across all areas of focus, as we took up important work at the highest level — with UNICEF, the Commonwealth, and global leaders. Our efforts opened opportunities to empower girls, improve the environment, and advance literacy and health. I want to thank each of you for your proactive service. I also want to thank the wonderful Rotary staff for ensuring that we can work with care for our fellow human beings, with peace in our hearts. Personally, this has been an extremely enriching year for Rashi and me. We’ve met with thousands of Rotarians and been inspired by their great work around the world. We were also able to showcase Rotary’s work at the highest level, meeting with heads of state, leaders, and bureaucrats and offering to work with them to show that Rotary cares and brings peace in this world. With our swan song, Rashi and I wish you the very best as you Serve to Change Lives.
Dear fellow Rotarians, Time really flies, especially when you are having a great time and your team is performing exceptionally well! It seems just yesterday that I got to serve as your District Governor, and now it’s time to pass the baton. The pandemic paused our movement and challenged us on all fronts in our mission to ‘serve to change lives’. However, as a true Rotarian we proved to perform things differently to meet with the task ahead in serving humanity with their most critical needs. For, the very first time in the history of our District our DG Installation was carried out LIVE from Himalayan TVHD and not only did we reach every Rotarian’s home but the whole country and beyond. Our prime time was reported to have the highest TRP during that time. Nabinita and I do not know where to begin in thanking each and every one of you for the honor of serving as your District Governor and First Lady. It has truly been an amazing year. We have done so much and more and this could not have been possible without you all, so thank you my Rotary family. On the very note I would also like to thank our many friends of Rotary, our Partners in service, Government and Aid Agencies and Donors alike. Thank you again. The District has achieved great heights because of the contribution of each and every Club and its members and I cannot thank you enough for your contribution to Rotary. I would also like to thank Nischal and his team of Publication and GML Subcommittee for coming up with all the publications right on time, starting from the release of the District Directory and GML’s first issue on July 1st 2021 itself and subsequently issuing all the GML’s on time. I would also like to thank Rotaractor Dipesh Acharya for his contribution in designing the layout of the GML. I am overwhelmed with emotion as this Rotary year is coming to a close. As I pass on this baton to DGE. Jitendra Bahadur Rajbhandari, Nabinita and I congratulate him and Madam Sarita and wish them well and all success for 2022 – 23. I thank you all once again for your love, support and understanding. It has been an honor and privilege to work and serve the community with each one of you. Please keep very well and “Live to Serve” and “Serve to Change Lives”.

Each moment of gathering is a moment of fellowship for the Rotarians at RC Kathmandu Height. Nonetheless, the members has the opportunity to gather several times this month to celebrate various occasions. From attending the RI convention in the United States to organizing a fellowship dinner in Kathmandu to participating in an inter-club futsal tournament, the members made the most of their time together by celebrating with sports, songs, dances, laughter, joy, and friendships. We have attempted to create memories of these events by presenting them in the form of a photo collage. Other notable features of this issue include the service project "Rotary Chhahari," board decisions, the rotary district award, and many more. We believe you have enjoyed our issues so far.
