Selection

I started with clicking on the background layer and then I would either use the lasso tool or the object selection to select each object such as lemons, plates, or a bottle. I would either change the object with the hue selection, color balance, and brightness adjustment layer. I wold then clean up the lines by clicking on the adjustment layer and use the brush tool to clean up the lines.

Vector Masking

For this assignment, I selected the sculpture from the image and then moved it to another file and added an adjustment layer to apply a gradient in the background. After that I would copy and paste a texture from google and then make it into a smart object. after turning off the visibility of the layer, I selected the area I wanted to work on, overlaying with

other areas if I wanted to blend something and then I would warp the texture to the shape of the selection. I would clean up the edges with the brush tool. I would apply an adjustment layer on the selection and I would repeat the process with all of the selections until the whole image was done.

Brick Wall & Graffiti

For this assignment I got the image of the brick wall that I wanted and then I would cure the close stamp tool to carefully align the lines of the bricks to each other to minimize the ghosting. After I covered the two windows and the

door, I put the layers into one and use the burn, dodge, and sharpen tool to fix up the edges. Then I made another layer to paint on a tag and converted it inot a smart object to add a noise filter.

5

Pen Tool Exercise

For this assignment I drew a mock up of a logo for NSU and then I transferred it into illustrator and converted the image into a template. After that I would do into outline view and use the pen tool to trace

the edges of my logo. Once done I I filled in the path so fill he logo with color and then copied it using alt to change the color to create variations of the same design after grouping my log together into an object.

For this project I many any circles and by using the smart guides, I was able to align them perfectly (on the second try) with the edges of the outer circles. Using the shape builder tool I was able

to join together the lines to turn the many little shapes into larger and simple shapes. Finally I used the gradient window and and tool to adjust the gradient that I liked.

Logo Design

For this project I sketched an idea for a logo and then went to midjourney on Discord to get some ideas. After that I took the best result from discord and I set it as the template and made different laters for the shapes, lines, and

letters by tracing the eye and the shape in the back. I used the text on a path tool to align my words into the shape I wanted. After everything was done I made two more copies and used the recolor tool to make variations.

Social Media Campaign

For this project I took a logo I designed for a mexican bakery I made it and I made 5 artboards, each for an ad on different social media platforms and a magazine print.

I used the shape builder tool to help structure my ads and then imported an image and used the sections I made to make a clipping mask to fit the images to the shapes to add pictures to the ads of the products and made sure to make space for information in text.

Movie Poster

For this project I took a png of the bathhouse that is in the background and while it already had the background transparent, I went and added a yellow glow affect in Photoshop to all of the blinds to make it look like the lights are on inside while it is night out. I then traced three characters and I put their shapes inside each other in order to get the effect that I wanted in Illustrator. Finally I added some text like the director, the studio, the release date, and informing the public that the movie can be seen in Japanese or English inside of InDesign.

Trifold Brochure

For this project I made a logo in illustrator and I took photos from the business’s website and removed the background on the products I wanted to show. I made the color scheme of the

trifold the same as the business and to add text I aligned the text boxes to the reference lines we placed and made sure to align the text to the same baseline everywhere.

to make sure any text I put on top of it will be readable. I duplicated the parent and changed the fonts and colors of the text to better match the different background on the second article.

For the first parent page I looked up fonts for the titles of the articles and also making sure to add page numbers to the corners of the pages. I made a little sprite to be next to the page number and in the logo in illustrator. For the backgrounds of my articles I get them from google and make them more opaque in photoshop

12 Summoner.Net

I was inspired by “Nintendo Power” Magazine from the 90’s so I made a similar type of magazine for another developer that I really like. I took images from sites and removed the backgrounds in photoshop to place then in InDesign, for any elements that I could not find, I would make it myself in Illustrator such as some of the

status effect icons. I used styles to format my body and titles and made sure that the works formed blocks of text. I did my best to give each page a style that represents something from the series I was representing.
