“I was really obsessed with stuffed animals and couldn’t keep buying more. So, I decided to learn how to make them. I learned to crochet three years ago at ten years old. Now, it is crazy to me to see how much my business and skills have evolved over the years,” Weinstein said.

On her Instagram, she posts about her crocheting business which gets her many orders. Because she’s had a lot of orders, work starts coming in and Weinstein tries to manage with her business and her education.

Every order comes with its own special meaning. Some of Weinstein’s orders have special meaning behind it. Once, she got a message from a person who asked for a plushie in memory of her dog,

“I once had a special order where a person asked me to make something of her puppy since her puppy had just passed away. She kept it on her nightstand for a memory of him and I was happy I was able to be a part of it,” said Weinstein.

Breakfast at maman’s

STUDENTS VISITED THE RESTAURANT MAMAN IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND TOLD US THEIR THOUGHTS.

Eighth graders Thereza Milano and Marisa Beverley went to the newly opened restaurant called Maman. This beautiful restaurant located in South Miami is famous for its fresh baked goods.

The two girls order an iced vanilla latte and chocolate chip cookie and give their reviews on it.

“I thought their freshly baked chocolate chip cookies were very moist and fluffy. When I tried an ice cold vanilla latte, It was very tasty and I would definitely recommend a 10/10,” said Milano.

The place is very well decorated and its appearance is what attracts customers. The restaurant has lots of greenery and flowers which gives it a pleasant feel. Each wall is painted with blue and white giving it a calming appearance.

COACHELLA

One of the best music festivals, Coachella, happened April 11-13, and people had a lot of fun dressing up, listening to their favorite artists, and having fun with their friends.

Coachella 2025 was amazing, an experience like something out of a movie. There were so many acts and things to see. It wasn’t a concert, it was like an experience. Many students took in the experience via the livestream.

Lady Gaga performed on the opening night and totally dominated the stage. Her voice was incredible, and the way she interacted with the crowd was really cool. Then came Green Day. It was loud, fun, and energetic even though they’ve been around for a while, they were still playing. Post Malone wrapped up being the final headliner, and he had everyone singing along and catching the vibes off of him. It was truly special.

“I watched the Feid concert which was one of my favorite because Feid sang many of my favorite songs and overall it was a blast of a show,” said Tomas Maslowski (8).

There were also amazing solo performances, like Lisa of BlackPink. She just had so much energy on stage and the whole crowd totally loved it. Travis Scott’s show

was also amazing. He played all of his best songs that are absolute bangers and had this crazy setup with lights and projections that was more of an art installation than a concert. Missy Elliott and Megan Thee Stallion also had very strong sets that got the whole crowd moving.

“I watched Ty Dolla $ign because he performed alongside Feid, and it was really fun to watch them sing their new release Dallax,” said Diego Sthory (8).

The campgrounds themselves were exciting, too. There were massive art works everywhere, and everybody was dressed in the most creative outfits, some were quite fashionable and others just fun and colorful. It made the environment feel alive.

The only downsides were the weather--people said that it was extremely hot--and the fact that everything was pretty expensive. But with those parts being said, overall the experience was one for the books. This year’s Coachella was music, art, and just people all coming to have a great time.

CHAMPIONS

THE BEST SOCCER COMPETITION IN THE WORLD.

The UEFA champions league is considered the best league in the world, not only because of its amazing games and environment but how it brings people together. It is exciting to not only the watchers and fans, but the players and officials. People from all ages and all countries are came together to watch the tournament.

“The Champions League is one of my favorite events to watch in my free time,” said Paulo Martinez (8).

Some people that play soccer watch the Champions as a learning experience. They watch in hopes of going professional one day and are inspired to play there. Even if it doesn’t mean playing for their favorite team, just playing in the UEFA champions is a life goal for young promising soccer players.

“It’s a very entertaining, inspirational tournament. If you are really looking to become a pro, these nights become your style, and if you analyze the games well you will get better. I have been a Barcelona fan since I was little, and I would like them to lift the trophy,” said Roberto Ortega (8).

Some people think that the UEFA champions league is corrupt and unfair at some points. This doesn’t necessarily mean that this competition is rigged, but some calls by referees have stirred controversy.

“The Champions League is a European event that is robbed by Real Madrid. For example, my favorite team, Atletico de Madrid, got robbed because apparently Julian Alvarez touched the ball twice while taking the penalty. It got further revised and as a result he just kicked and it didn’t touch twice. The VAR must’ve edited it,” said Rodrigo Estrada (8).
