THE WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC ENDED WITH A BATTLE BETWEEN TWO MAJOR LEAGUE GREATS.
The World Baseball Classic ended in dramatic fashion. The two faces of baseball faced each other for the win, Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani struck out trout for the win and sealed the victory for Japan. The World Baseball Classic is something that happens every four years. The Classic brings countries from all over the world and players to represent their countries.

“I think it was amazing to see all the countries battling each other and it was really fun to watch,” said Josh Gutierrez (6).
The Classic brings a large fanbase too because 20 countries compete in the Classic.
“It was a true treat to watch the countries battle each other and watching their fans cheer them on with a lot of passion,” said Mason Maduro (6).
In the Classic, there are four Pools, each pool holds 4 teams and the winner of the pool moves on to the quarter finals. The winners then move on to the semis then the famous finals, where the winner will live in history. The finals for the 2023 World Baseball Classic was posed to be one of the best baseball games ever.

This finals game was Team U.S.A led by Mike Trout vs Team Japan led by Shohei Ohtani. These two juggernauts of a team battled it out to the end where the final out was something made in a movie. The two teammates, Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, the two best players in the world, battled it out. Shohei Ohtani eventually struck out Mike Trout, sealing the win for Team Japan.

This game racked up a whopping amount of 4.5 million viewers from Fox and Fox Deportes, and this alone is not all the viewers. In Japan, the Classic is famous and in the last WBC (2017), about 62 million people watched it. So just imagine the amount from this year.
It was truly a spectacular Classic and started sports off right this year.
