The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a prestigious program that challenges young people to develop life skills, increase self-confidence, and engage in community service. The award includes four components: physical recreation, skills, community service, and an adventurous journey. Over the weekend of March 3-5, the Grade 10 group successfully completed their bronze qualifying adventurous journey amidst the stunning mountains of Fujairah. This required participants to plan and execute a two-day hiking and camping trip, while showcasing their teamwork and outdoor skills whilst being entirely self-sufficient. Our journey was an unforgettable experience, that was filled with breathtaking hikes, encounters with wildlife, and a great sense of physical accomplishment. It also demonstrated the beauty of nature and the importance of disconnecting from technology. If you're looking for a fun and rewarding experience that will push you outside of your comfort zone and teach you valuable life lessons, you may want to consider joining the Duke of Edinburgh Award next year!
