It is with a great deal of pleasure that I welcome you to the River City Collection Sale for Wild Indian Acres and their guest consigners. This sale has become one of the best in the breed and the event this year will be one of the highlights for the Charolais breed for the year and into the future!

My association with the Mike Kisner family goes way back to the time when he first started buying his first Charolais cattle. It was a modest beginning that has now become one the most progressive breeding programs in the industry.

After building his herd up he asked me to help him manage his first sale in the fall of 2016, with the novel idea of inviting everyone to come to DeSoto and taking in the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game the night before the sale. It has grown into one of the “go to” sales in the breed.

The last three years sales results will show you the success only continues to grow. In 2021, 62 lots averaged $5,370 to be ranked the #2 female sale of the breed. In 2022, 59 lots averaged $5,934 to rank as the #1 female sale and in 2023, 63 lots averaged $5,650 to rank #3. This past May, Mike hosted the Wild Indian Acres Mature Cow Herd Dispersal in which 139 lots averaged $5,334! These numbers are indeed impressive. He continues today buying top genetics, breeding, flushing, and building for the future as you will see in this offering.

As we wrote this sale catalog, I can only appreciate the impact these genetic packages and individual animals will have on the advancement and improvement of the Charolais breed!

Greg Hubert

An RSVP will be appreciated for dinner arrangments!

This sale will be video only at the Casino hosted by DVAuction. The live lot cattle will be on display at the Wild Indian Acres ranch, De Soto, Missouri prior to and on sale day.

Charolais friends,

Mike & I are so excited to welcome you to this year’s sale. While we greatly enjoyed our time over the last seven years at the Cardinal baseball games in September and having you at our home on the ranch, Mike thought we should change it up a bit. Seven years, has it really been that long that we have had the sale at the ranch? Change is good, at least that is what we keep telling ourselves.

One thing that will not change is our grateful thanks to all our friends, customers, and consigners that we appreciate coming and supporting us year after year! We cannot wait to see you all at River City on September 14th. The new format in the beautiful River City Casino will include an open bar at 5 pm, a sit-down dinner at 6 pm and the auction beginning at 7 pm. Stick around after the sale to gamble, or if that is not your thing, make your way to the private VIP area of the casino’s nightclub for music and relaxation.

If there is anything we can assist you with while making your plans to stay at the casino, travel plans, cattle advice, please do not hesitate to call Mike, Greg, or David Hobbs. It is going to be a great time!

Selling a Guaranteed Successful Flush. – It would be hard to argue there is not a more dominant EPD producer donor in the breed today than Heiress of Trojan 720! It is also hard to believe that this flush is even being offered. There is no arguing genomics and EPD’s are becoming more of a keystone to beef cattle genetics and the industry every day. An individual being “good” will not be good enough for the commercial cattle industry as time goes on. No matter which terminal trait a person dives into there are 720 progenies ranking towards the top, if not the very top! 4 of the top 10 TSI females are 720 daughters, ranking 1, 2, 4 & 7th. Three of the top 20 TSI bulls are sons. The top four CW bulls are sons, all four of the top CW females are daughters. The #1 MARBLING female is a daughter, it just goes on and on. If you want to scoff at the genomics, the proof is in the pudding as they say. During the 2024 Cannon Bull Sale 9 Heiress 720 sons averaged $13,916 by the nose!

Leachman Cattle of Colorado and Leachman Cooperator Cling Kathrein recently purchased a one-quarter interest in a daughter of 720 for an undisclosed number. Heiress 720 isn’t all numbers, she is a useful size, beautiful feet, gentle as they come and fertile, sticking first service AI literally every attempt and is a consistent reliable embryo producer. But the numbers are still there, she ranks in the top 1% of the breed for WW, YW, CW, REA, MARB & TSI. This opportunity affords a forward thinker options. A breeder could choose to shoot the moon to rare air genenomically, or use a common numbered herd sire to add EPD punch to an ET crop. The flush will be IVF performed at Trans Ova, Iowa in February after she calves. The buyer is guaranteed at least 6 embryos and due to the value of her offspring the seller will split embryos starting with the 11th embryo.

LVB Red Wolf 9031 – Sired by ProChar Red Wolf 47C, out of LVB Code Red 0094 daughter, AWW 801 lbs.

Wow, we have several top of the breed Red Factor lots in this sale offering and this one you cannot walk away from! Lane & Vicki Bina have been developing their Red Factor herd for 20 years, as long as anyone. Has it been successful, well just read this? In their 2024 bull sale the 21 white bulls averaged $5,967, which is good, but the 15 Red Factor bulls averaged $8,067! So yes, I would say VERY successful and in demand by not just purebred breeders, but from the commercial bull buyer too.

LVB Challenger 3034 –

Sold for $26,000 in the Bina 2024 Bull Sale to Doll & Sellhorst Charolais herds. He is sired by LVB Campari 0027 senior herd sire for J&S Ranch in Missouri who was sired by Keys Ruston 51F and out of a LVB Code Red 0094 daughter.

RED FACTOR COW HERD

Selling Choice of the Red Factor Cow Herd. No cow has ever been sold out of the Red Factor herd! There are about 35 head of Red Factor bred spring calving cows from which to select. A highlight in that group is the pictured cow above LVB Miss Red Wolf 8016 and she will be hard to get away from. Her 2021 son LVB Demski 1084 had an AWW of 813 lbs. to ratio 109, the #2 bull out of 17 contemporaries and sold to purebred breeders T & L Cattle, Mountain Grove, Missouri. Then her 2023 son LVB Ruston 3065 came in with an AWW of 931 lbs. to ratio 120, the #1 bull calf in his group of 21 bulls. But do not stop here, make sure you look through all these brood cows, there is more lurking there.

Bred AI on 11-22-23 to LT Atlas 0251 Pld. Safe in calf. You will have a great opportunity to evaluate three ETs sired by three different sires all out of the great donor Creek Cut Greta 576P ET! This heifer is sired by the high EPD WCF Mr Silver Gun 467 who sticks some numbers on his progeny. This heifer ranks in the top 5% of the breed for WW, YW, CW, REA & TSI. Presented by A & L Davis Charolais, DeSoto, Missouri, 636-208-4509.

WIA -DC MS BADGE 2108 P

Bred AI on 11-26-23 to LT Atlas 0251 Pld. Safe in calf. Her sire LT Badge 9184 sold for $105,000 in the 2020 Lindskov LT Bull Sale and has made a name for himself across the breed to solid production. Someone should try to keep this set of full ET sister together and all have calves sired by LT Atlas 0251. Should be something to study here.

Due soon to Mead-WIA Triple Threat V1141.

Once you see this LT Countdown 9712 female, you will understand why we are so excited about what this sire is going to do for this herd and across the states. His maternal pedigree combines the best of the Broberg Resource and Bluegrass lines with the LT Ranch Ledger bloodlines. This heifer has eleven EPD traits in the top 35% of the breed, eight traits in the top 20% of the breed, five traits in the top 15% of the breed. You have got to like the LT Affinity and Fargo pedigree on the bottom side too.

WIA MS LOCKLYN 2147 P

His CE & BW EPDs are in the top 25%, his WW & YW numbers are in the top 5% and he ranks in the top 2% for CW, top 20% for REA, top 1% for MARB & TSI!
