This is the story of Jim and the stone soup.

Jim is a poor boy. He walks in the mountains.

One day Jim arrives in a village. He’s tired and hungry.

The villagers are not friendly.

They say: “We haven’t got any food for you!”

Jim says: “No problem. I can make my delicious stone soup.”

The villagers say: “Stone soup? It’s disgusting!”

Jim prepares a fire. He puts water in his big pot.

He puts the pot on the fire.

Then he throws a stone into the water.

The villagers are curious. They look at him without saying a word.

Jim tastes the soup and says: “It’s good. But it’s not perfect!”

He asks the villagers: “Have you got onions and carrots for my soup, please?�

A woman says: “Yes!”, and she adds two big onions and three big carrots.

Jim tastes the soup and says: “It’s good. But it’s not perfect!”
