down rabbit hole the Alice in

Illustrated by: Laura Giorgi

Alice is sitting by the river and has nothing to do. She is bored!
She looks into her sister’s book but there are no pictures in it.

“I’ll make a daisy chain... but I’m too tired to get up and pick the daisies.”

Suddenly a white rabbit with pink eyes appears. Well, there is nothing strange about a white rabbit with pink eyes except that Alice hears him saying:
Oh dear! Oh dear! I’m so late!

Then the rabbit takes a watch out of his waistcoat pocket and looks at it.
This is too much for Alice! “A rabbit with a waistcoat, with a pocket and a watch to take out of it!
That’s really strange!”

Alice is a very curious girl, so she runs after the rabbit. He jumps into a large rabbit hole and disappears. Alice goes after him,

She is falling and falling and falling!
While Alice falls, she sees that on the sides of the hole, there are cupboards and bookshelves, maps and pictures.

Down, down, down.
“If I am falling through the earth I may come out on the other side.”
Down, down, down.
“What’s the name of that country? Is it New Zealand or Australia?”
Down Down Down

“Oh, I miss my sweet Dinah. Where are you, my little cat?
There are so many bats here... and you like bats, my sweet Dinah.” Down, down, down.

Finally, she lands. Alice is now in a long hall full of doors. She tries to open them but she can’t. They are all locked.
