Rogério Souza is a guitarist, composer, and arranger. He was born in Rio de Janeiro and started getting interested in the guitar at about nine years of age. He grew up surrounded by great musicians, particularly those of the group Época de Ouro, and had the chance to learn his instrument with some of the best choro players of the time. He comes from a very musical family, with five brothers who are also musicians. He has played with great names of Brazilian music, such as Baden Powell, Sivuca, Paulinho da Viola, Turíbio Santos, João Bosco, and Elizeth Cardoso, among others. He has also written arrangements for shows and records by artists like Ney Matogrosso and Ivan Lins, besides coproducing records for Nó em Pingo d’Água and others. In 1996, he won the first prize in the Rio de Janeiro Choro Festival, for best song and best arrangement. As a musician, he has done many international tours, taking part in festivals, cultural events, shows in jazz clubs, and workshops in Latin America, the United States, Europe, and Japan. Rogério Souza is a member of the group Nó em Pingo d’Água, with whom he has recorded six albums, two of which have won awards.

Rogério Souza é violonista, compositor e arranjador. Natural do Rio de Janeiro, começou a se interessar pelo violão por volta dos nove anos de idade, tendo crescido sempre cercado por grandes músicos, principalmente os do grupo Época de Ouro. Sua família é muito musical, com cinco irmãos que também tocam. Essa convivência foi o melhor aprendizado possível, por ter tido a chance de aprender tocando com os melhores músicos de choro da época. Tocou com grandes nomes da música brasileira, como Baden Powell, Sivuca, Paulinho da Viola, Turíbio Santos, João Bosco e Elizeth Cardoso, entre outros. Também escreveu arranjos para shows e discos de artistas como Ney Matogrosso e Ivan Lins, além de co-produzir CDs do grupo Nó em Pingo d’Água e outros. Em 1996, ganhou o primeiro lugar no Festival de Choro do Rio de Janeiro, com os prêmios de melhor composição e melhor arranjo. Realizou várias turnês internacionais, participando de festivais, eventos culturais, apresentações em casas de jazz e workshops pela América Latina, EUA, Europa e Japão. Integra o grupo Nó em Pingo d’Água, com o qual gravou seis CDs, sendo dois deles premiados.
