Kerry International Film Festival hosted a special preview screening of the film, SUNLIGHT, at Siamsa Tíre Tralee recently,. The screening was followed by a Q & A with writer and KIFF Board member, Ailbhe Keogan and actor, Barry Ward.

Kerry International Film Festival was thrilled to be showcasing a preview of this fantastic film, Speaking about the special preview of SUNLIGHT, writer Ailbhe Keoghan said: ‘In an age where independent cinemas are closing daily, it's more important than ever to get off our couches and go watch films together as a community. Let's support it and independent film in one wonderful swoop.’

Synopsis of the film SUNLIGHT: Former-addict Leon (Ward) loves his best friend Iver (Carney) more than anything else in the world. Iver’s the reason he’s clean and romping about the place like a wild pinball. So when Iver gets a terminal diagnosis and decides to leave this earth early, Leon’s not about to let him go without a fight, even if it means being a royal pain in the arse. He forces Iver to agree to one last day in Dublin, hoping to convince him to live. Will he succeed? The outcome knocks both of them off course: some things are so wrong they’re right….

The film has received fantastic reviews to date, including one from Scottish novelist, playwright and short story writer, Irvine Welsh who said ‘ SUNLIGHT is everything an independent film should be.’
