VOLUME III 2022-2023

This is a redrawing of a scene from an anime called Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu. You should watch it. :)
A Beatles superfan’s chicken-scratch tribute to Sir Ringo. Monochrome in honor of the Revolver mono mix re-releases (and that fantastic album cover). Peace and Love!
I only draw things that inspire me, and the anime Blue Lock has inspired me the most. It taught me no matter how hard you try, you can’t change others. And that is why your only option is to change yourself. That is why I draw blue lock and try to capture the raw emotion of the scenes.
The adrenaline of seeing the goal and kicking the ball without hesitation. I felt solely using drawing pencils and relying on lines and boldness captured the intense emotions so well. These drawings represent the great change and strides the main character has made to become a better version of himself.
Even the most furious ones slow down to focus.
Every branch has a new story.

“I based this piece loosely on Haruno's (春野) song called "Limbo." The images have a difference in temperature and a slight variation in messaging. I use temperature to convey the close heat of humanity in the first and the distant coolness of the heavens in the second. It may not be obvious initially, but I played around with the theme of rejection using common East Asian symbols. The mahjong tiles are his plaything, messy and discarded. It is not necessary to understand the significance of the symbols to take in the piece--the main takeaway is carelessness in reaction to rejection. But, the symbols put this carelessness and rejection in contexts related to human (or, non-human) emotion that may be too numerous to count.”
This piece is a pixelart design I created, using an app that provides a blank gridded canvas. I did it in parts, creating most of the black linework first, then choosing colors and shading, and finally adding the mountain in the small frame I drew. I love creating patterns and objects in pixelart that have symmetry, tesselate, and involve gradients.
This pixelart piece I created contains multiple repeating shapes and patterns, and could potentially repeat forever! I like to create general shapes that can be tesselated, and then add detail from there, creating as many patterns that can line up and be reflected as possible. Detailing pieces like this one is one of my main ways to kill time when I’m taking the bus, sitting in a waiting room, or sitting in the dining hall.

Isn’t it amazing how libraries look so beautiful, sometimes even more enchanting than some museums? This is Boston Public Library btw.

I created this on the wheel and then added the ears, nose, and tail afterwards. This was one of the first pieces that I made that didn’t break while I was trimming it! The ear being bent was an accident, but it looked really nice so I kept it (story of literally all my art).

“In this particular artwork, I strayed away from sticking to one medium and oscillated between mediums to produce the effect that I desired - I used acrylics for the dresses and the background, while I used color pencils and traditional sketching tools to create the models themselves. This drawing/ painting is exclusively inspired by Miss Universe 1994, however, with a twist - all the dresses are exclusively designed by me! I attempted to include beautiful women of all cultures and to produce trendy dresses of various textures and patterns, maybe ones that I would love to wear if given the opportunity! I had so much fun making this picture, and I am hoping you would like it too!”
