My primary responsibilities are managing the faculty searches and advancement processes. In addition, I send faculty offer letters and manage reappointments and non-clinical time with the Academic Affairs team. In the past year, I have worked on over 10 searches which resulted in 27 interviews and 17 hires and helped the Merits & Promotions committee review 50 advancement packets with 20 of those packets being CAP actions.
Jocelyn Pulido Academic Affairs Coordinator

I manage the administrative activities related to Non-Faculty academics and Volunteer Clinical Professor appointments. I oversee the search process, NFA advancements, visa processing and appointment renewals. This past academic year 2022 I completed 20 NFA recruitments (with visa processing) and have led various faculty recruitments as well.
I am in charge of streamlining the onboarding process for new faculty members. Within the onboarding process I oversee and train the section admin with complex moving reimbursements. I manage the appointments for Clinical Instructors and MSP Physicians in the department while also supporting some faculty searches and NFA matters. I am working closely with the Faculty Advisor to the Chair to ensure faculty are aware of all development opportunities which includes the Speaker Training Course. I also manage the celebration of Mentoring Month every year which is recognized throughout our department across all our sites at UCSF Health, ZSFG and the VAMC.
Connie Jang Medical Privileges and Projects Coordinator

I am responsible for overseeing the credentials and privileges of our faculty. Over the past year, I have successfully initiated and managed more than 30 credentialing appointments to ensure timely processing. Additionally, as a project coordinator, I work to help streamline processes such as the alignment of the recredentialing appointment dates between BCH-Oakland and UCSF, which helped reduced the amount of paperwork our faculty had to do.
Susan Wall, MD Professor Emeritus, Advisor to the Chair

The Speaker Training Course continues, and this year it will be given three times . This course is cotaught with Dr Elissa Price. Four faculty are coached through a four session course that includes a 20 minute presentation, video taping, group discussion. And then a repeat of all that - now improved. There is a waiting list, so please contact Susan Wall if you are interested in taking the course (susan. wall@ucsf.edu). We encourage this.
With the amazing help of Apple Palad, we have developed, and now maintain, a series of Faculty Development Opportunity Databases for each of the following: 1) Grants 2) Workshops 3) Awards. Each database is updated regularly to show the next upcoming deadline, eligibility details, link to the formal announcement, etc. These opportunities are both internal at UCSF and beyond. A Newsletter is sent by Dr Wall to eligible faculty to help with a “Heads Up” regarding upcoming opportunities. Suggestions about what to include in these databases is encouraged and welcome.
