Welcome to Music Flood 2026-7
The Music Flood programme is designed to enhance music in your school through opportunities for your pupils to experience live music and learn from trained music specialists in a variety of vocal and instrumental projects.
Our CPD provides the opportunity for all teachers, regardless of musical experience, to develop their musical skills, knowledge and confidence. All sessions are led by experienced musicians and teachers with all resources provided. After each session, there will be a drinks and canapes reception. We encourage everyone to stay, socialise and share ideas and support.

Being a Music Flood school
Being a part of the Music Flood partnership means we are here not only offer opportunities and experiences, but also to respond to what you need in your school.
This could be... a Secondary School musician to perform to your pupils help with preparation or advice for an assembly or musical production, nativity or carols concert, or other music project an inspirational live performance or workshop to accompany your current scheme of work repertoire recommendations that you can weave into your curriculum a music CPD session bespoke to your school and anything else
Music Flood belongs to us all, so please do reach out to us at any point in the academic year; we would really love to hear what you need to ensure music is thriving in your school.

Music Flood Week
Monday 21 to Friday 25 September 5 days of music in every school: workshops, assemblies, busking, singing and joy.
Music Flood Celebration with TAIKO Meantime
Thursday 24 September, 1030am, Abingdon Market Place. For pupils in KS2
Keep on Singing! CPD
Tuesday 6 October, 4-5pm, Radley College
Repertoire and Resources to use immediately with your class to make singing part of every day, followed by drinks and canapes at 5pm

Thursday 3 December, 1.30pm, St Helen’s Church
Instrumental rehearsals in the morning Singing for all pupils in Year 5 and 6
Snap, Clap, Pat and Stomp CPD
Thursday 21 January, 4-5pm, Radley College
Percussion CPD led by percussionist George English
A fun and interactive session using body percussion, djembes and percussive instruments that will leave you excited to try activities with your pupils to develop their rhythm, spatial awareness and coordination Followed by drinks and canapes at 5pm
The Music Flood Orchestra
Monday 1 February / Tuesday 2 February and Monday 24 May / Tuesday 25 May
Radley College
Led by Helen Eccleston, this incredible project is the opportunity for instrumentalists to rehearse and come together as a massed orchestra on one of these two days each term.
To take part, pupils must have completed the instrumental survey during Music Flood week

This is an incredibly special opportunity for KS2 pupils to develop skills and awareness of signed singing
Singing Games Project
Singing games develop far more than singing: they build musicianship, memory, coordination, listening and social skills through active musical play.
To build on the success of our KS1 Singing Games initiative, we are offering a 4-week block of in-classroom teacher and pupil training for years 3 and 4. Schools are encouraged to sign up for a 4-week block in which a member of the Music Flood team will teach the singing games to Year 3 and Year 4 pupils, and work with teachers to develop their singing leadership skills.
The programme is designed to develop your teachers’ confidence leading active music-making sessions in a very approachable way.

Djembe and Hand Percussion Workshop
We invite those teachers who attended the percussion CPD in January to bring 30 Y5/6 pupils to learn alongside Radley College music mentors and George English. All instruments provided. Book your session for March 2027

Music Flood Week is for everyone. All other projects, events, workshops and resources will continue to be offered free of charge to participating schools. In return, we are asking schools to commit to participation in three Music Flood CPD sessions across the academic year, and to support and make time for relevant staff to attend them. We would love to explore this with you and understand any ways we can help make this possible.
Importantly, these sessions will not be simply standalone training opportunities We hope they will help to establish a stronger network of those leading, teaching and advocating for music across all our Music Flood schools. Let's create a community able to share ideas, support one another and develop musical confidence collectively
As Music Flood enters its next phase, we want to find value and legacy not only in what we can provide, but shaped by the shared expertise, enthusiasm and leadership that already exists across our schools.
