LOVEWORKS IN RADFORD
by Deborah Cooney
Did you know that the Virginia is for Lovers campaign is over 50 years old and is ranked as one of the most successful campaigns of all time? It’s even on our license plates! With that popularity in mind, the folks at Virginia Tourism have encouraged localities, businesses and attractions to ‘share the love’ and install their own LOVE works in their communities. As of now, there are over 200 LOVE works around the state and many folks plan trips around visiting the LOVE works and getting that perfect picture while they are there.

Currently under construction in downtown Radford, the LOVE letters are sure to bring visitors to the area as part of their LOVE tour. The solid white letters will stand out against the ‘ghost ad’ mural that is so well known and recognized and the letters will be customized throughout the year to feature holidays and special events that are happening in Radford. The iconic Radford clock can be a part of the photo and the mural in the background pays tribute to the many artistic offerings that we have in Radford from the RU College of Visual and Performing Arts series to public art that has been featured over the past several years to the local artisans and crafters that call Radford home.
We invite you to #LoveRadford and #LoveVA when you share your photos with the Radford LOVE works.
