a blend of imperfection transformed to beauty. overlapping concepts. two worlds merged into one. REFLECTION represents the unification of two concepts (or egos), seemingly different, existing effortlessly together in harmony.
REFLECTION
double exposure film is the process of layering two (or more) unique and distinct images in a single frame. the result is a blend of two separate images, with small pieces of each image peaking through each other to create an interesting medley of details. the beautiful part is that these two images standing on their own may appear completely opposite, and the blending, while unexpected, results in an image that is even more charming. the combination proves that despite the opposition, not repressing one side to silence to allow the other to be the main image, the end result is much more beautiful, balanced, and unique

the harsh division between dark and light, intense and gentle, chaotic and elegant. it is what happens before the harmony of REFLECTION ties the two seemingly opposite features into one. despite this contradiction, the unique combination is what allows for the duality to occur. many do not expect the concept (or ego) to have its equal yet completely opposite counterpart, its ANTITHESIS, but the truth is that the sharp contrast is what makes each one so unpredictable.

ANTITHESIS is an interesting concept to grasp. the idea that a singular thing, place, or person can have two sides that exist in complete opposition to one another. on the surface, it may appear that the sides counteract each other, with the opposition bringing down the effectiveness of the other. however, it is quite the opposite. the existence of two distinct halves creating a single whole does not cause for each to be downplayed or out shown by the other, but it makes the beauty of each side shine through even stronger.
so be it a country with a wide, gaping, natural landscape on one side and a bright, lively, bustling city on the other. a transportation method of zooming cars on a highway counteracted by the use of peaceful boats in a canal with no rush to get where they are going. or a person. whose dark, chaotic, and intense side is equally matched light, gentle, and elegant energy. the sides could not be more different, but without each other they could not exist.
