This past year was a chance to celebrate our community. Reflecting on the amazing events that we hosted, we can’t help but applaud the immense effort and attention to detail our community partners and our entire staff put into making such vibrant, exciting spaces for art, music, games, and learning.
The launch of the Art & Identity programs, featuring local Mexican American artists Nicole Acosta and René Amado, through the United Way of Racine County Equity Fund Grant, was truly a highlight of the year. This initiative was a crowning achievement for our museum’s educational efforts, offering deep and meaningful programming—such as the HOOPS Table Read and Community Conversation at the Racine Theatre Guild—that explored themes of self, empowerment, identity, community, and heritage in ways we might not have been able to achieve without the generous support of the grant.
Wustum saw its largest crowd ever at Kids Day, an annual day of free, family-oriented art making and games both inside and outdoors. More than 950 people discovered the art of play in 2024 by creating make-and-take art projects and searching high and low in a campus-wide scavenger hunt. The long-lasting memories created at this event are made possible thanks to funding from generous donors like yourself.
Groov’n in the Garden made its return to Wustum’s verdant grounds last year. This outdoor concert was first presented in 2023 as a collaboration with Scott Terry of Mahogany Gallery. In 2024, we officially turned it into an annual event. The VersaTile Band, a supergroup of local talented musicians, brought a medley of neo-soul, rhythm and blues, and funk that got attendees on their feet and dancing.
Rounding out the year at Wustum was the spooktacular Free Fall Family Fun Fest in October. The Witches of Wustum brewed up a whole lot of frighteningly fun entertainment, including a pumpkin patch donated by Swan’s Pumpkin Farm, scavenger hunt, art projects, and outdoor games! Participants donned their most creative outfits—inspired by superheroes, movies, fairytales, and more—and got to strut their stuff in a costume parade.
Financial Summary
RAM maintains a stable and resilient financial position, with the capacity to support its core operations and pursue new initiatives. However, there are opportunities to optimize asset utilization and improve efficiency.
Like many museums and cultural organizations, RAM faces a variety of challenges that resulted from the pandemic and other external factors. Because of this, we have taken and continue to take actions to ensure sustainability now and in the future.
In the short term, we have been pursuing additional funds through gifts and grants focused on capacity-building and institutional development, while also streamlining expenses and modifying our operations. For the long term, we are working to strengthen our business model with financial strategies that include striking a realistic balance between earned and contributed revenue, shoring up cash flow, broadening our base of support, and catalyzing improvement through capital investments and endowment growth.
We are deeply grateful for RAM’s current financial stability, but we also know we must remain focused on fiscal prudence today and as we move forward. Later this year we will embark on an in-depth planning process to help guide our direction over the next five years. By responding to current economic conditions, changing audience behaviors, and competitive dynamics, we can position the institution for ongoing success.
The charts and figures on the next page are a snapshot of RAM’s financial position from 2024.

RAM is pleased to recognize the following generous donors who supported both museums through financial contributions. All gifts are welcomed with the utmost gratitude. Although we are confident this list is complete and accurate, please contact Amy Singstock at asingstock@ramart.org or 262.619.3561 if there are any errors so we may immediately correct our records.

Most people remember RAM through gifts of art, real estate, wills, trusts, life insurance, or retirement plans. Any gift can be unrestricted or can be designated to support specific museum functions including education programs, exhibitions, collections, or RAM’s endowment. Your attorney or financial advisor can explain the best plan(s) and tax advantages for your situation. All you need to get started is RAM’s legal name and tax ID number:
Racine Art Museum Association, Inc. 39-1018155
Since Jennie E. Wustum’s bequest in 1938, estate gifts from generous members and friends have been vital to RAM’s success and longevity. After remembering loved ones, please consider RAM as a partial beneficiary. Even five or ten percent will go a long way. The museums won’t have a future without you, and would be honored to be a part of your legacy!
