Cita's Circle

Cita’s Circle is a collective network of women united by their appreciation for the artful expressions that enrich our lives—from fine art and fashion to jewelry, design, and the creative disciplines that inspire them.

Mission: To support local creatives and champion their artistic ambitions by fostering a vibrant community centered around the arts. Through curated events, meaningful connections, and shared experiences, we aim to create a network of opportunities that encourages engagement, collaboration, and appreciation for the creative voices within our community.

A monthly newsletter will highlight upcoming local events, including jewelry showcases, fashion pop-ups, art exhibitions, and other cultural experiences, providing a resource for discovering and supporting the diverse talents shaping the local arts scene. The collective will vote annually on an artist, creative or foundation to support, in which a portion of the membership fees will support.

The purpose of this creative circle is to organize fun events, dinners, art talks, and attend already city planned events as a group to bring the circle’s members together to enjoy and champion the arts!

The Steering Committee: Cita’s Circle will have a steering committee of people who will help in the structuring of this creative circle, organizing events, formatting the newsletter, and helping to select the artists and artisans that the group will vote on to support annually. Membership proceeds will be directed toward advancing their mission and initiatives.

Why is it called Cita’s Circle: Cita’s Circle is named in honor of my grandmother, Ruth McLean Bowman Bowers, affectionately known as Mamacita. She was a devoted champion of the arts, an empowering woman, and someone who approached everything she did with passion, determination, and heart. Her generous spirit, creative energy, and commitment to uplifting others serve as the foundation and inspiration for this organization.

I believe each of us has a “Mamacita” in our lives—a person who encourages us, inspires us, and reminds us of the power of community—as well as a Mamacita within ourselves: the part of us that is courageous, compassionate, and driven to make a difference. Cita’s Circle honors that spirit by bringing people together to celebrate creativity, support local artists, and cultivate meaningful connections through the arts. ~ To The Steering Committee: I would love for you to read and reflect on the following questions. I have asked you to become a part of the Steering Committee because of your interest in whether it be in the visual arts, fashion, architecture, dance, jewelry etc. I think us coming together and bringing our various passions and connections is so powerful and can inspire so many!

Questions I would like you to consider: 1) How often should the collective meet annually? I envision these being artistic gatherings whether at an artist’s studio, a collector’s home, a museum, a private event. There are so many city events that we can attend together as a group which I think will make the newsletter very important!

2) How should we structure the membership fee?

3) How should we promote? Should it be invitation only? Too exclusive? How many members should we strive to have? Look at LeSpot for inspiration.

4) Any comments or revisions to the mission? Would love to hear your input!

5) Trips? Thoughts about arranging trips to visit art-centric destinations? This can be a down the road thing but something to ponder.

6) Timeline. As most of you know, I will be in London for the fall of this year. I am thinking about launching this early summer of 2027, thoughts?
