Managers’ Welcome

On behalf of the board and team here at Naas Racecourse, you are very welcome to the final of our Summer Season evenings featuring the Yeomanstown Stud Irish EBF Stakes (Listed) and the ARQANA Irish EBF Marwell Stakes (Listed). Racegoers have enjoyed some brilliant racing and live music over the last few weeks and today looks no different, with Spring Break set to wrap up another very successful summer season.

Eddie

Firstly, a big welcome back to the team from Yeomanstown Stud. Yeomanstown Stud is one of Europe’s leading stud farms and we are hugely appreciative of their continued support here at Naas Racecourse.

We are also delighted to welcome Arqana back to Naas Racecourse for the Arqana Irish EBF Marwell Stakes. Arqana is one of the premier sales companies in Europe, and today’s renewal of the Marwell Stakes looks sure to represent them well through the season. A big thank you to the Arqana team and guests here today, and we hope they enjoy their day.

We are also proud to welcome back Darac O’Neill and the team at O’Neill & Co Chartered Surveyors, long-time local supporters of the track. Their continued sponsorship of the Apprentice Handicap and dedication to grassroots racing is sincerely appreciated. The O’Neill family are an integral part of our team at Naas, many will recognise Darac’s daughters, Eva and Bonnie, who assist with BTOs and winners presentations (when their own impressive riding commitments allow!).

A very warm welcome too to NFP, part of the Aon group, and the Barrett family. NFP is a specialist in people and insurance risk management, delivering sustainable solutions for businesses and their teams. We are delighted to have them with us and hope the group enjoys a fantastic evening.

We are delighted to have VEI Global back with us for their staff summer celebration. As a leader in delivering innovative technology services across the globe, VEI Global’s commitment to fostering a positive and rewarding workplace is clear—and we’re honoured they chose Naas for their team night out.

A special thank you also goes to Nessa Joyce and the team at the Irish EBF, whose loyal support helps make fixtures like tonight possible.

And finally, tonight’s card is brought to a close with the support of Bert House Stud, a respected operation based in Athy offering a full range of services including boarding, foaling, and sales preparation. We are grateful for their involvement and their continued contribution to the Irish racing industry.

We wish the very best of luck to all of this evening’s runners, owners, trainers, riders and stable staff. Thank you for your support and we hope to see you in the winner’s enclosure today.

Our BBQ Marquee and Panoramic Restaurant are fully sold out today, but we still have lots of options for racegoers, so make sure to check out our racecourse map to see all your options, including in The Post Restaurant. Should you have any queries or need assistance, please feel free to visit the Race Day office, located next to the turnstiles, where a member of our team will be happy to help.

Our next raceday is our richest raceday of the year, with the feature being the €200,000 Irish EBF Ballyhane Stakes on August 4th on the bank holiday Monday. There are lots of activities on the day including so make sure to visit www.naasracecourse.com to book your discounted early bird tickets.

Enjoy your evening!

RACE VERDICT

Two once-raced colts may battle this out. The 5f trip was inadequate for the stoutly-bred Cactus here first time out, and she looks almost sure to make a more significant impact now. However, Ger Lyons trained the winner of that race and may have the solution again with KRASIMIR who ran on well when getting in the clear at Fairyhouse a fortnight ago. Hot Hot was an expensive Breeze-Up purchase and may prove the pick of the newcomers. [Alan Sweetman]

RACE VERDICT

This looks like an ideal opportunity for SKY MAJESTY to add to her tally following a respectable run in eighth in the Commonwealth Cup, with Lady With The Lamp and Carla Ridge among those behind. If fully tuned for her seasonal debut, Super Sox may give the selection most to do. Charrason is unexposed and might not be out of her depth here. [Alan Sweetman]

RACE VERDICT

Nicola Burns may be able to negotiate a high draw on ASISAID who shaped promisingly at Navan on his first run for this stable. Still In Bloom is an obvious danger from the number one berth, though it will be a challenge for Milo Malone to repeat the front-running tactics used to good effect by a senior jockey at Killarney. The veteran Tyamite has gone well for Rebecca Parsons on his last two starts. Others to consider are Obama Army and Roderick. [Alan Sweetman]
