RACE VERDICT

A race that can throw up a smart type with recent winners Talk The Talk and Mr Percy going on to land Grade 1 honours. Mailloche is the obvious starting point, a French recruit having his first start for Willie Mullins. However, the vote goes to the local runner BUNKER BUSTER, placed in two good bumpers and worth another chance after unseating at the first on his hurdles debut. Marco Du Seuil and Trubshaw are also considered, while Not A Whisper is worth a market check. [Adrian Wall] Source: Racing Post

HORSE WELFARE

-A PRIORITY

At every race meeting there are specially qualified equine veterinary surgeons on duty to look after the wellbeing of all the horses racing. There is a vet in attendance at the start of each race who, follows the horses throughout the race and is quickly on hand if a casualty occurs. It is normal procedure to erect screens around any horse receiving veterinary treatment. This allows the veterinary surgeon some privacy to fully assess the horses’ injuries and race goers should not assume the worst if screens are erected around an injured horse. The Blue Cross ambulance is always present to transport the horse back to the stable yard for further treatment if necessary. A second veterinary surgeon is in attendance in the stable yard to assess and treat any horses requiring such attention post race. The horses’ welfare is always our priority. RACE VERDICT

A wide-open maiden and one that won’t take a lot of winning. The vote goes to BIG BOY DAN, who ran well for a long way in a course bumper when last seen and could improve on hurdles debut. Local trainer Eric McNamara targets this meeting and a strong case can be made for Jennyfromtheblock. Formerly with Gavin Cromwell, Caoimhe has her sights lowered for her new yard. Born De Ceres is a player, as is Rumble Demosa if she gets in. [Adrian Wall] Source: Racing Post

RACE VERDICT

Millstream Lady and World Of Fortunes renew rivalry after fighting out the finish in this contest last year, with the former narrowly coming out on top. However, James Kenny’s mare is weighted to turn the tables. Nonetheless, they might both struggle to contend with CARRIED WITH LOVE, who impressed when winning on stable/chase debut and the fact Harry Cobden is here for one ride can only be a positive. Majestic Force has a lengthy absence to overcome. [Adrian Wall] Source: Racing Post

RACE VERDICT

The unknown quantity in here is Dallas Star, who had to work hard to win over what looked like an inadequate trip on his hurdles debut. He’s fancied to take a big step forward over this trip. If he falters, perhaps GANGSTER GRANNY can take advantage. Colin McBratney’s mare is a bit of a Downpatrick specialist but the form of her fourth there received a boost at Punchestown this week and she is a former winner here on the Flat. The progressive Luck Between Us is shortlisted, as is Tinto De Verano. [Adrian Wall] Source: Racing Post

This looks very competitive. Strong cases can be made for the likes of Glin Road Boy, Lenjoleur De Palma and Tuesday’s Punchestown winner Build A Bridge, but preference is for KOME DANS UN REVE, much improved at Clonmel last time and quite likely with more to offer. Hat-trick seeking Ladiam demands plenty of respect, as do the likes of Tudorista and Ardera Gun, while Trackman Tommy could go well at a price. Preference, however, is for LOI DES JEUX, a winner over slightly shorter at Clonmel and whose Listowel effort since over a shorter trip has been enhanced since. [Alan Hewison] Source: Racing Post
