Prosthodontics is a specialized field of dentistry focused on the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation, and maintenance of oral function, comfort, and appearance for patients with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues. This course introduces students to the principles and techniques associated with fixed and removable prostheses, including crowns, bridges, complete and partial dentures, and implant-supported restorations. Emphasis is placed on patient assessment, material selection, impression techniques, occlusal concepts, and the multidisciplinary approach required to restore optimal oral health and aesthetics. Throughout the course, students gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in fabricating, fitting, and adjusting prosthetic devices, preparing them for clinical practice in restorative dentistry.
