Course Introduction
Physical Security explores the principles, strategies, and technologies used to protect people, property, and assets from physical threats such as theft, vandalism, terrorism, and natural disasters. The course covers topics including risk assessment, the design and implementation of security measures (such as barriers, locks, access control systems, surveillance, and alarm systems), and emergency response planning. Emphasis is placed on integrating physical security with information security, understanding legal and regulatory requirements, and evaluating the cost-effectiveness of security solutions in a variety of environments such as corporate, industrial, and critical infrastructure settings.
