Course Introduction
Physical Geology is an introductory course that explores the materials, processes, and structures that shape the Earth's surface and interior. Students will examine minerals and rocks, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, erosion, and the formation of landforms. The course emphasizes understanding both gradual and catastrophic processes that continually modify the planet. Through a combination of lectures, laboratory exercises, and field observations, students gain insight into Earths dynamic systems and the scientific methods used to study them.
