Course Introduction
Environmental Systems Science explores the complex interactions within and between natural and human systems that shape our environment. Emphasizing an interdisciplinary approach, the course covers key topics such as ecosystem dynamics, biogeochemical cycles, energy flows, climate science, and human impacts on the environment. Students will learn to apply systems thinking and quantitative analysis tools to evaluate environmental challenges, understand feedback mechanisms, and propose sustainable solutions for managing natural resources and mitigating environmental change.
