Developmental Biology explores the processes by which organisms grow and develop, starting from a single cell and culminating in a complex multicellular organism. This course covers fundamental concepts such as fertilization, embryogenesis, cellular differentiation, morphogenesis, organ formation, and growth regulation. Students will examine the genetic, molecular, and cellular mechanisms underlying development, drawing on both classical experiments and recent research using model organisms. Emphasis is also placed on how developmental processes are conserved or modified across species, as well as the relevance of developmental biology to human health, disease, and regenerative medicine.
