We’ve had highs and lows both on and off the sporting field but have learned a great deal about what it means to work as a team. We can safely say that we did our best on Sports Day and although the competition was fierce we supported each other and pulled together to achieve eleventh place. Some special mentions for Sports Day go to the following students: • Ashleigh Schulz U/14 girls placed 2nd • Harliai Curthoys-Davies
U/14 girls placed 3rd Farrer also proudly watched on as Harliai Curthoys-Davies and Ashleigh Schulz broke the U/14 girls 1500m record and the U/14 girls High Jump record respectively. In Cross Country, Farrer House was fortunate enough to have Harliai Curthoys-Davies place first in the U/14 girls, Dylan McGrath place third in the U/15 boys. Swimming Carnival is always a challenge for Farrer House but for those students who attended, it was a positive experience where teamwork was paramount. The Farrer Family are lucky to have dedicated members who embody the family motto, work hard and try their best. These people carried Farrer House through the Swimming Carnival to achieve eighth place in participation. Once again, Harliai Curthoys-Davies achieved an outstanding result in first place for the U/14 girls and Mollie Lehman achieved second place; also for the U/14 girls. Performing Arts was an interesting and creative affair where we recreated the American Presidential Campaign. Of course there was Hillary Clinton (Ruby Aitken) on one side and Donald Trump (Ben Clemas) on the other. Students made creative choices to wear the colours of the American flag, which showed a clear division with red on one side and blue on the other. The end result was very effective with a sea of red and blue which clearly defined the different sides of the campaign. Overall, the Farrer Family have had an interesting and memorable year. Mrs Mohtar has continued to support us in her role as House Tutor and the House Captains, Leah Varelias and Chloe Underwood, as well as the leadership team, worked hard to leave a positive legacy. We look forward to what challenges next year will bring, which we know we can face with confidence when we work together as a team.
